I somehow doubt it'll be this weekend only.
Like the one last week...then the one last weekend...then again on Marvel Monday.

Too bad HBO or Showtime doesn't try a super hero series- non DC or non Marvel of course.

        Just saw it.

It definitely wasnt the "second coming", but it was a good flick. Pretty funny too.

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)

My girlfriend just went to see it and is likely going to talk my head off about how incredible it was all night lol.

I'm really not very interested in it personally. I get why it would be awesome for people that love all the superheroes and stuff, but I find takes on the heroes like the Batman Begins/Dark Knight series to be a lot more interesting because it's not so much about him being a superhero as much as it is just a thinking kind of thriller.

I can't really put my finger on it exactly, but I don't get excited for a movie about a guy that just turns into a raging green monster or a god as I do for someone that happens to be loaded and trained extremely hard on combat and stuff like Batman.

Am I weird (for this reason lol)?

Your username is fitting for what most people would say about your opinion.

You definitely should see it though. Then maybe you wouldn't be THAT GUY.

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)

Just saw it again, this time with the girlfriend and it was just as entertaining as it was the first time. The movie kept her attention and she had only seen segments of the first IronMan movie and nothing else. The theater was packed too.

I do feel like I got a better crowd on opening day, it's insane how sometimes the crowd can make the movie feel better, doesn't happen in most situations, but for this movie, the midnight opener had all the geeks and nerds and it made the movie come together that much more.

Overall still an excellent movie, yet for some reason this time I felt as if Hawkeye's part was minimal. The first time i saw it I felt like he owned the movie
              Spoiler
but this time he just felt underused, felt very awkward.

Saw it for the second time yesterday w/the GF, who was seeing it for the first time. I felt the same way; I'm really glad I saw it Thursday night w/the geeks - the crowd did make the experience better. The movie contains a lot of nods to the comics and the opening night crowd got that; yesterday's crowd not so much. Were lots of little kids in the audience yesterday and lots of people having to run their kids to the bathrooms pretty consistently through the dialogue-heavy moments. Although interestingly enough the crowd didn't clap after the movie opening night and did clap yesterday.

Was really surprised my GF liked it as much as she did and now she's craving to know the backstory. She'd only seen Thor and said she liked that, but this surprised me. We've spent most of Mother's Day watching Captain America and The Incredible Hulk (her fav character in Avengers is Mark Ruffalo/Hulk). And now she's disappointed I don't have the first Iron Man in my blu-ray collection, whereas the day before yesterday she could've cared less

But there's TWO characters that are trained extremely hard in combat in this. 3 if you count Cpt. America but he's got that shield. Iron Man is extremely loaded, that's how he can afford his suit. He's also scientist like Batman,as is The Hulk in human form.

Again, exactly the same thing here. However the midnight crowd clapped and cheered like crazy when i saw it. There were of bunch of kids and a baby yelling throughout segments of the movie on my second run through lol. During the scene where the Hulk transforms for the second time, this guy yelled so loud, the entire crowd clapped

My girlfriend wants to see the other movies too. It was definitely a fun watch

Yeah, I like the story behind Iron Man, and I also love Robert Downey Jr, so I'm interested in seeing the Iron Man movies. I kinda dig Captain America's story too, the Hulk and Thor just kill it for me.

It's probably important to note that I've never even laid my hands on a comic book, and I never really watched super hero shows growing much outside of the occasional Batman, Spider Man, and Justice League.

I don't know how anyone could watch this movie and like Hulk LESS. That seems almost impossible to me.

Not sure if this was directed towards me, but I don't intend on going to see this in theaters. It's not that I'd like him less from watching this movie. I just don't really like the concept behind Hulk in general.

You said you kinda dig CA story, then outright reject Hulk's. That makes no sense. It's basically the same story, except Hulk's was a screwed up/disaster formula.

I personally wasn't a fan of either C.A. or Thor (movie-wise), and thought The Incredible Hulk was a better movie outside of the Hulk action scenes themselves. Iron Man was the best of the films IMO, but Favreau wasn't my favorite director of the bunch at the same time.
