Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)

I just got back from watching The Avengers and let me tell all of you...

They just avenged every bad comic book movie ever made! It lives up to the hype and ****ing SMASHES it before sending it to the cosmos so that it can be smashed in the future. Best Marvel movie to date and it's just as good as The Dark Knight but for entirely different reasons.

If you end up disappointed after watching the movie, I have one explanation for you - you have bad taste in entertainment.

As is standard with these films, stay until the first part of the credits is over. Comic book geeks will absolutely go ballistic.

Out of 100, I rate this movie to infinity.

So I take it you liked it?

I'm pumped for this. Gotta figure out why the IMAX theater here only has one showing, though ...

I don't think they shot anything with IMAX so any IMAX showing isn't really in true IMAX format. You're basically just watching what everyone else is watching in a regular cinema.

Also, I thought the 3D was pretty good. Nothing amazing but definitely not an eye-sore like most post-converted movies.

And yes, I wish you guys see it too. I need more people to geek out with.

I know, but seeing these types of movies on a true IMAX screen (not the fake ones most theaters have) that's 60 feet tall and 80 feet wide is better to me than a regular screen.

Doesn't matter how big it is.

              If there's no story.

It is suck. (re: Wraith of the Titans)

Sure. But I'm talking about movies like The Avengers, Iron Man, etc. And of course movies like The Dark Knight which actually has scenes shot in IMAX. Not bad movies like Wrath of the Titans.

I might have to see this by myself first, then double back with my girl.

I aint got time for no damn talking and smooching.

TDK or The Dark Knight Rises? The new trailer wasn't attached to the screening I watched.

I'm planning to watch it again within the next few days. Some people are saying there's another scene at the very end of the credits (I only stayed until the end of the first part of the credits) so I'll just confirm it for myself.

How were the Hulk scenes, the movies kind of blew so his appearance in this one scared me a little bit.

Hunger Games is good. It just doesn't even begin to compare to The Avengers. The movie is around 2h 20m long. Perfectly paced and it never felt dragging IMO.

Also, Joss Whedon said the initial cut was 3 hours long. So hopefully, the blu-ray has an extended cut and not just deleted scenes.

The Hulk scenes were awesome. Trust me when I say that ONE particular scene with The Hulk will make you go "HULK! **** YEAH!"

It's pretty great that everyone gets equal billing. They all get a chance to shine.

I hope there's another movie that is about Ultron...the would have to introduce Ant Man though.

Ultron would be an awesome villain. Get him and his Adamantium shell in there!
