Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
I didn't see a thread for the show and figured it'd probably make more sense to put it here than start one.
Either way, I can't understand how Marvel can continue to nail movies and be completely brain dead about animation. That idiot Jeph Loeb has to go.
It hasn’t exactly been a well kept secret, but Marvel have officially announced, via TV Guide, that a new Avengers animated series, Avengers Assemble, is coming. This is obviously the nail in the coffin to the current Avengers series, The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, which was already presumed to be ending after its current second season.Comment

If it's like Ultimate Spider-Man (which was the whole point of this, to put all the shows in line with each other) then Young Justice and the DC Nation will be my only source of comic book animation viewing for a while.
The animated comic book movies tend to be pretty good right now though. So even if the shows suck, there's still those.Comment

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
They're on hiatus right now, which sucks for us cause they're still showing new episodes in Australia. It's such a ****ty situation, cause I remember the show's writers talking about the difference in quality the shows take in a few more episodes after the Invasion storyline when Loeb took over and made the episodes more individual, because he doesn't believe in serialized storytelling. Hate that guy sooooo much.Comment

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
Releases on Blu-Ray on September 25th.
There's also the option of buying the "mega-set" that's a ten-disc collection of all six movies.
Definitely Blu-Ray, and if I didn't own the Blu-Rays of most of those movies I'd probably buy the collection.

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
Last I checked the megaset was still around $25 for each movie. At least most of the blus have dropped below $20 finally.

The only one I don't have is Hulk so the only way they would get me to buy that big set is if they have special features that aren't on The Avengers blu-ray.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
