I think Louis is going to kill someone. He seemed very flustered when Dexter made a comment about him not knowing what it is like to take someones life. He is obviously obsessed with serial killers. Seems that his fantasy might turn into a reality.

I don't think they are going that far. I think it's as simple as Louis having a man crush on Dexter and just having his feelings hurt when his hero blasted him.

Is his game really that twisted (taking the role of a serial killer) compared to what's out there now?

does anyone else feel like theres more narration going on compared to seasons past? i could be wrong but it feels like its way too much, they're trying to explain everything so that an 8 year old would understand it.. am i wrong?

also just a thought on dexter becoming more and more careless.. isn't that just what happens with serial killers? they all slip up. they are all careful at the beginning but eventually they all start to lose it, so i know we all want dexter to go back to being careful calculating bad-*** dexter, but i think this change in his character is accurate, if not overdone.

i loved how my question before was answered in the first 10 minutes of this episode.. but again, too much narration, people can figure it out on their own.

The extra narration would be really, really good...if they actually did it like they do it in the books. Dexters internal narration in the books is hysterically dark and twisted and adding that side of Dexter to the how would've been incredible. Instead he's just narrating what he's doing.

I highly doubt they will. If anything he's just going to be the token "person that is held hostage at the end of the season". It would be a nice change of pace, but I don't see the benefit of killing him off.

Quinn on the other hand....

Although, I will say my hatred for Quinn has basically completely died down as the seasons have gone on. For the first season or two he was on the show, I couldn't stand him at all. Now he's almost somewhat likeable to me. I like that he's going in a downward spiral. Hell, I'm surprised it's Batista and not Quinn that's being held hostage at this point.

Speaking of Quinn, this episode had quite a few nice exchanges in terms of dialogue, but did anyone else notice that part after Deb was feeling sick inside the church and was talking to Dexter, Dexter said "maybe you're pregnant", and then Deb brushed it off by saying "the last person I've been with was Quinn". I filed that one under my Obvious Foreshadowing file.

Yeah I kind of wonder about this, no true spoiler just some thoughts on it but rather spoil tag it just in case.

I doubt Batista gets killed but if he does it would have to have a pretty huge impact on Quinn's character, Quinn is going out and getting hammered all the time and his job is suffering due to it. If Batista were to get killed off after trying to call Quinn multiple times to wake up and go with him to check out this lead, that would have a pretty big effect on Quinn and likely lead to some changes in the kind of person he is.

Like I said I don't think they'll kill him off but it would have a pretty huge impact in Quinn's character development, hes already pretty much an alcoholic, if his partner gets killed due to his personal problems would he change for the better or continue into the tailspin hes currently stuck in? Even the fact that he just got kidnapped would seemingly have to really bring forth some changes in Quinn.

Just imagine how big of an oh **** moment it would be though if Batista were used in one of the final tableaus, don't think it will happen but it wouldn't completely shock me either.

No, not really. Usually it's just that numbers catch up and something slips. It's not carelessness, it's just that no matter how careful you are one little thing can get you caught.

This episode was better (compared to the last few, that's not saying much) but this payoff of Travis gassing the city is a little comic bookish. I'm still waiting for Travis to grow a handlebar mustache so he can start twirling it and laughing maniacally. Speaking about losing it, Dexter seems all flustered the last few shows for no apparant reason. He's running around in a panic and that's not Dexter at all from previous seasons.

Disappointed that they decided to make Travis a supervillain rather than have Dexter conflicted about killing someone with a mental illness but I guess that's too serious and thought provoking and you need excitement and outlandish plots to bring in the ratings. When I saw Travis in that suit, the wife and I just laughed out loud. It seemed like something out of Austin Powers, pretty corny. Still trying to figure out how Travis knew exactly where to find the woman on the boat.

The biggest laugh was when the intern showed Dexter the game about being a serial killer. The guy's wife was killed by a serial killer. WTF!!! That takes alot of balls and denseness on the intern's part. That left it wide open for a good reason as to why Dexter would get upset but not even a mention. The writers totally whiffed on that one.

I honestly think louis knows dexter is the bay harbor butcher. Its all bs that he is working there for his game. All his moves have been to get closer to dexter like interning in his department and going out with bautistas sister.

The girl intern earlier this season got the ice truck killer file, probably using it to investigate that its dexter.

my guess dexter will be hunted by him next season maybe start off as a copycat or get to dexters victims before he does.

That is actually a storyline I could enjoy for next year. And then for the 8th season have Dexter on the run and then please end the series. But I have this weird feeling that if ratings continue to go up then Showtime will tell the producers to keep going as it is Showtime's cash cow.

Sounds reasonable, but that would make Louis a total knucklehead to show Dexter his game. The people at Dexter's high school reunion would have picked up on Dexter's name when the news first hit. Louis would have forgotten it by now, unless the fairly uncommon name of "Dexter" stuck in his memory bank.

I kind of "miss-posted". I was trying to convey that Louis didn't know that Trinity's victim (in this case Rita) was Dexter's wife, not necessarily that he hadn't heard about the murder.

Louis' apartment reminded me of American Psycho and had me started thinking he might be a serial killer or maybe wants to be. He has an obsession with Dexter, you can see it when he was rejected.

He comes off as being as knowledgeable about computers as to Dexter to blood spatter. So I can see how he can be following dexters moves he does from his database searches and what he does on his computer.

I'll try to re watch scenes that he's in and see if there are any easter eggs.
