No Joe Driscoll was Dexter's biological father, Harry became Dexter's adopted father though after as a cop he found dexter at the scene of Dexter moms death. So not technically incest by the dictionary definition, but to me it is IMO.

Being brother/sister for 30 years while not blood, still brother and sister.

doesn't anyone else feel like Dex and Deb have been closer than a traditional brother/sister relationship through all these seasons? i mean, maybe i'm just not close with my sister but they seem to be constantly talking about who they are sleeping with or whatever that just seems to me outside of the boundaries of anything i would talk with my sister about... so maybe i feel that this 'incest' storyline isn't completely out of left field. and like has been pointed out i'm not really ready to call it incest as they aren't blood related. that dream scene sure freaked me out, but i think that was more because i absolutely cannot stand Deb (jennifer whatever) as an actress, her ability to express emotion is lacking, to say the least.

You would have to be pretty warped as a viewer to get any enjoyment or interest out of a Dex\Deb incest relationship. These are the 2 main characters, you can't make it awkward like that for viewers because the majority will be creeped out and then they don't watch. Watching that dream was the only time I ever watched this show and had to turn my head. It was beyond creepy and I felt grossed out just watching it. I'm sure it was the same for alot of viewers. It was disturbing and not in a good way.

Hopefully it continues. I enjoy reading you guys being THIS stressed out about it. It's TV - people were bitching about being bored and uninterested about the season and now you've been talking about it all week.

I like to hear what people think about any topic and I like your honesty.

I'm a little warped too, and I'd have no problem with it but I'm not sure they have any chemistry (ironic because they obviously did in real life). I'm not ruling out something developing though. Right now we've seen the brother/sister dynamic and it's hard to see it beyond that.

Yeah I'm really stressed out about it, haven't slept in days. Venting how bad the show has become by using Maury Povich type storylines does not make it interesting. Most of us are just shocked at how fast the show became a complete turd.

I never said the show was boring, In fact I think it's become the exact opposite and try to cram too many cartoonish events into every show. The ADD crowd who loves CSI may dig it but cable shows are supposed to be a little more substansial, not paced like a cheezy network show.

For instance the last show we had Bautista captured and then escapes, same thing with Dexter, a plot to bomb the station is hatched and then foiled and then Deb decides she wants to bang her brother after 35 years. All in one episode. What happened to building tension? I watch it now only for comedic purposes and it that respect it delivers in spades. Every show is becoming like the Naked Gun.

You could have Dexter become a transvestite and that would cause just as much discussion and sadly him being a transvestite isn't anymore ridiculous than this incest angle.

It's mostly the eyes/eyebrows and face shape lol, but I've thought that since I started watching the series ~a year ago.

My issue with the Deb/Dexter angle is it screams soap opera storyline to me

Deb, the one who fell in love with a serial killer is now *gasp* in love with that dudes brother who is *gasp* also a serial killer and *gasp* her adopted brother of over 30 years.

It's like they don't care about pushing innovative storylines anymore and would rather simple get a few shock value moments here and there that really don't take any thought/creativity and don't further the quality of the series but offer that brief "whoa what the - " moment every now and then.

I will say though that I am really intrigued by the whole temp sending Dexter the ice truck hand. Interested to see where they're going with that and it's the first thing this season that has piqued my interest outside of "I wonder when they're going to reveal that Pared's theory is right"

There's sloppy and then there's just brain dead. Does that explain how Dexter has become a complete moron? (like getting caught in the celler thinking an alive Geller pulled the table back over the door) Sounds like she's reacting to criticism about huge plot holes and those were the most obvious recent ones that were mentioned because there's so many and not just with Dexter's brain cramps.

Dexter made enough mistakes this year that Leslie Neilson would have figured it out by now. If you were going to plant mistakes by Dexter you would do it very covertly, not have him screw up 5 times an episode.

ANYWAY, im excited about tonight..I told the Mrs I would wait until Wed to watch it b\c thats when shes back in town but I dont know if I can do it...

Im going to try to stay away fom this thread until then....though there will probably be more complaining than actual spoilers lol
