There was a huge smack-you-in-the-face foreshadowing with Deb catching Dexter one day.

It might as well have been in bold letters with ringing alarms when Dexter said: "Maybe his sister didn't know," and Debra responded with something to the affect of: "It's always someone you least expect."

I can't remember the exact lines, but the writers were just toying with us there.

I loved that part. That was one of the best "little moments" the series has had IMO.

"Anything's possible..."

I also liked the part where Dexter pretends to be all anti-serial killer when Louis is showing his game to him.

Also, another foreshadowing moment to mention; anyone else notice the amount of times they showed that Elliot search engine this episode?

Yeah he's been using that search engine the last few episodes. Been trying to remember if he's searched anything suspicious or unrelated to the case

Easier to go to LaGuerta, who's already been involved in corrupt political dealings (blackmail) then a tenacious new lieutenant who would probably be less receptive to the idea of sweeping it under the rug to help him (in his mind)

I think the way they have her handle this situation now that she knows it's Matthews will be a barometer for how she might handle when she inevitably finds out about Dexter. Sort of a baby step between the moral conflict of protecting someone close to you and trying do her job as a lieutenant

He didn't have to tell Deb why, use the same reasons LaGuerta gave to get the close rate up. Thing is you would never hand someone who already blackmailed you a loaded gun. It just makes zero sense.

Lol he pretended to be so angry when Louis brought up the game. Nice little touch to that .

Pretty good episode.

Some issues with it though...

1st: The kicking the bag to find the can thing was cheap as hell.

2nd: When he called 9-1-1, he didn't cover up his voice at all. Aren't those things recorded? Just because he didn't leave a name, doesn't mean that everyone at the PD couldn't recognize his voice. Lazy writing.

and now that Louis is all heartbroken, I wouldn't be surprised if he finds out about Dexter soon. He has way too much of a hard-on for Dexter to not look more into him. The search engine thing brought up a few posts ago could seal it.

I think they are foreshadowing something big with Louis. Maybe even a possible next season storyline.

I actually think those are both very very intentional, and the first one is not lazy writing at all. It's cheap, in a sense, but it's setting up another mistake that is going to lead to dexter getting caught. Don't think it was lazy at all.

Well, if it was intentional and it blows back on Dexter, then it was a good call on their part. I hope you're right.

I think Louis is going to kill someone. He seemed very flustered when Dexter made a comment about him not knowing what it is like to take someones life. He is obviously obsessed with serial killers. Seems that his fantasy might turn into a reality.

That's a good point, I could see that happening. And perhaps he enjoys the thrill of it so much that he becomes a serial killer himself for a season 7 storyline. That would be something, 2 serial killers in the same station

They're definitely setting him up for something.

Dexter is ALWAYS using Eliotsearch now. They've made it a point to show it on screen every time he searches for something.

I believe this too. There's something very suspicious about him in particular. I could definitively see him as one of Gellar's former students.

So what happens if Dexter does get caught?

Does he go on a rampage and kills everyone. Does someone kill Debbie or kidnap his son? Will he finally go fully heel ?
