I know most, if not all, of you have given up on this, but this last episode was fantastic.

Yes it was. Easily the best episode yet.

I'm not talking about any one individual here , or about just this show specifically, but nowadays people don't give shows a chance to lay the foundation to set a up a quality long term narrative. Sci fi especially, needs time to introduce the viewers to a new universe. Its even tougher on cable shows that only have a 10 to 13 episode season to work with. The whole first year is basically the intro.

A Game of Thrones is a rare breed that knocks you out from jump street, and never lets up.

It would probably be better for more shows to do like Battlestar Galactica did and have a mini-series lead things off.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Bottom line they failed to capture the audience

There were too many holes in the story, too much non action, and alot of things dont make sense in the story

There wasn't much reason to continue to watch it for myself... and again, some people have watched it but there is a really dry sense of satisfaction even with them

I have enjoyed it so far, although I will admit there were times were it felt as if it were moving very slowly. The last episode was very good and I look forward to the season finale. Glad to hear it was picked up for a second season already.

I almost gave up on this, i had missed the episode two weeks ago. My cousin told me to watch this past Sunday's ep because it would be awesome. He filled me in and i'm glad i did. Just when i was becoming bored with the series, they spice it up.

Can't wait for the season finale this Sunday

I have liked it from the perspective that it's on cable, but it's not too serialized on a week-to-week basis. There's not a clear cut mold, and I think too often it's hard to find shows that don't have a standard mold AND are compelling enough to watch every week.

The show would not be nearly as good if Noah Wyle wasn't around though -- he's making a lot of the stuff that would be cliche work.

Not all the cringe worthy father/son crap. God its painful to watch. The main reason I thought this last episode was so much better than the rest was because there really wasn't any of that. To be fair to Noah I don't think there is an actor on planet that could sell that crappy dialogue though.

Number one on my list would be Pope, not sure if it's the character, the actor or a combination of the two.

The show has done a decent job of not falling into every cliche like I had presumed it would based on the premier. It seemed like the show really didn't know what direction it wanted to go and I don't want to speak too soon, but it seems the show has found it's groove.

Yeah, I've enjoyed the slow burn. And I like that people are dying that have had relatively big roles -- need to feel like everyone is in danger.
