I watched the series (mainly because my wife liked it) and thought it was a bit of let down. With such a big budget it could have been so much better but while it was watchable for the most part it was just a bit too predictable and acting was pretty poor at times so it was a disappointing.

The predictable part was what turned me away. The family was handled like a stereotypical 80s family sitcom.

Son angry at dad because he was away. Waaah!

Son plays rebel to get even at dad. Waaah!

Daughter falls for the older hot guy because he's cool. OMG no way!

Youngest child is afraid of the dark but doesn't bat an eye at being within miles of real dinosaurs. Blah.

It was too much for me.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Lol All very true. It was like something out of Family Ties or something.

I loved the whole "whatever you do you MUST NOT go outside this fence". Then they often seems to just roam the countryside without a care in the world.
