Re: Awake (NBC series)
The last two episodes were both excellent. Anyone know how the ratings have been for this show? I fear it will meet an untimely death after this seasonComment

Re: Awake (NBC series)
I loved the last episode as well. Before that we'd only seen how his coping resulted in only positives. Now we got to see the negative manner in which it affects him. It was interesting to see himself confusing things in both world.
I'm getting kind of a Lost vibe now with this show."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

This show is head straight to cancelville though. :/
1.0 and 0.9 rating the last two episodes I believe (3.18 and 2.56 million total viewers, respectively).Comment

Re: Awake (NBC series)
Yeah, episode four dropped by 25%, five 17%, and the sixth another 10%. That a huge percentage drop for a show that didn't have good numbers in the first place. Too bad, but it's not going to a season 2.Comment

Officially canceled. Not surprised.
Always knew it would be but as I said, I'll enjoy the ride. I did.

For those that enjoyed the show but feared cancellation would ruin the finale, and didn't watch, I advise you do.
Great 13 episode run. The finale was nicely done and ends on a satisfying note.
I'm sure that episode alone will get Kyle more opportunities to develop for television in the future.

Re: Awake (NBC series)
I disagree, the episode started great, but the very end was really bad. I didn't care for the conclusion/explanation for it all. It had me on the edge of my seat, then made me groan and slouch back.
It's better than an unresolved cliffhanger though.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

I liked it because it told a complete tale for one season. Sure there are questions but we know that we weren't gonna get them all.

Re: Awake (NBC series)
SpoilerA dream within a dream? Grrr, it's annoying whenever the dream solves everything in a tv show/movie. When things started getting a little crazy in the final episode, you suddenly realized it was too nuts to be a reality anymore. I guess there would be no other way to explain talking to himself at the prison, but why did none of this stuff occur throughout the series? Like the penguin suit. Seemed like it was thrown in for the final episode just to explain everything away. If that was the way they'd planned it all along, how would they have gone on with a 2nd season?Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

I didn't like the method used to tie everything together:

I've read that Kyle Killen wrote the season finale before he knew the show would be canceled and had to pitch the first episode of season 2 to NBC because they had concerns the season finale was going to make the entire happenings irrelevant.
Unfortunately, we will never know what exactly he intended to do after that final scene. He has stated he won't answer the question (though he has said he wrote the series from the perspective that the man was living a double life and that's it) because he prefers to leave it to interpretation (I honestly agree with this decision).
So yeah I get what you're saying. As a series finale, it sucks that it is wrapped up so neatly. As an unintended series finale, I'm glad it wraps things up nicely because we have an ending.
As a season finale, I have many many questions including: would that have been a third reality in which both live?
