I know alot of Decemberists fans hated it, but I enjoyed The Hazards Of Love. Another concept album I really liked was My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade.

Completely forgot about The Black Parade. Great call.

If there was just a single concept album as my favorite (without there being a band concept), it would easily be The Receiving End of Siren's "Between the Heart and the Synapse" album. Amazing.

Well, their entire discography is about a central theme/story, but this album is a masterpiece.
Thanks, guys. I never really listened to Coheed before--only the singles--but I just started listening to the entire discography, and it is wonderful. I always thought Claudio Sanchez just had a goofy, really high voice, but he actually has a TERRIFIC voice once you get past how high it is. And the guitars are killer.

Great songwriting, storytelling and of course, great music.
Awesome DJ, it's mine too. I would like to add mindcrime II is almost just as good with the storytelling.

It's a toss up for me.
It's 3030, baby. Way past the millennium. 3030's not only my favorite concept album of all-time, but it's also one of my favorite albums of all-time, period.

And Dr. Octagon (Kool Keith) is weeeeiiiiird. I mean, I own it and I've listened to it a ton, but there's no denying that Keith is in his own world. Speaking of which, Black Elvis Lost in Space wasn't too bad either.

This was my initial thought as well. Easily top 5 cd for me.

Definitely one of hip hops most slept on concept albums. From beginning to end, album plays out like a movie. Decent beats and Sticky's signature flow provides entertainment.

Short summary: Sticky's character, Kirk Jones just gets released from prison. No quicker than the first interlude, Kirk gets right back into some beef. Special appearances by Common, Eminem, Ra Digga, Cannibus and Raekwon to help along with the story. I truly wish more albums like this and Prince Paul's would come out.

I remember this cd. I loved that "Crazy" song w/Eminem. I think it was produced by Kanye West when he was still unknown.

My pick however, is Pink Floyd - Dark Side of The Moon. Just a great experience. I love playing it late at night.

I miss Onyx. Their first two cds were great, after that meh, but I loved the chemistry.

Not sure if it's a concept album or not, but it seems like one, The Mars Volta's Octahedron. Such a change for this group, but a great cd.

Unfortunately no. Not quite old enough to have seen them.

Edit: And then when they do tour, they don't come here.
