Going to Memorial Stadium in 1965 to see the O's face the eventual American League champion Minnesota Twins. That game starting my interest in the Baltimore Orioles and it was a thrill to see them win the World Series the following year. (Which I saw On Tv).

Re: What's your earliest sports memory?
I thought of one that predates my 1988 memory. I vaguely remember Carl Lewis' performance in the 1984 Olympics. Being 3 at the time, it's not like I really knew the significance of it though.
I did think of another '88 event I remember much more clearly though - Greg Louganis hitting his head on the diving board during the Seoul Olympics.Comment

Re: What's your earliest sports memory?
With all these Olympics memories it just dawned on me that I vaguely recall the whole Ben Johnson bruhaha at Seoul in '88. I was at a camp or something because I remember sitting in a cafeteria eating when they were showing the race live (or on tape can't remember) and everyone going crazy about how Johnson broke the 100M record then a couple days later we all learned the sad truth of that achievement.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
