Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
I love the HP series. I don't know if it's just because I didn't want it to end, but there were two parts that bothered me about the final movie.
SpoilerIt was in the book - but the scene with Snape didn't feel right once I saw it played out. It felt too 'convenient' to me and didn't make much sense. Voldemort ruthlessly kills anyone he feels like. He just ends them, straight up. But with Snape he conveniently attacks him, then leaves the snake to hurt him more, then walks away while he's still alive? All while knowing he must kill Snape for the wand to be his? First off - why suddenly just use a regular curse and then the snake and then walk away when he's used the killing curse simply because someone talked out of order? Then he leaves him without seeing him die? It's such a movie cliche, and at such a critical point of the movie. Obviously Harry needed to speak with him one last time, but I felt they could have found a way to have it make more sense
SpoilerThe final scene with Harry and Voldemort bothered me too. My said it seemed fitting that it begins with just them two, and ends with just them too - but no one really witnessing Voldemort being killed didn't feel right. I'm pretty sure in the books everyone is around fighting when it happens and they witness it. In this he just sort of turns into ashes and is gone then suddenly everyone's just to believe it? The guy who came back from the grave before, and now they're to believe he's completely gone even though no one witnessed it? That part just got me the wrong way and felt very anti-climactic.
I loved the movie for the most part - but those two things nagged me when it was over.Comment

SpoilerI wish it had shown Harry repairing his own wand first, then disposing of the elder wand.
I had to explain a lot of things to my buddy, because he had never read the books. I just feel like it's something everyone should read, if there's things about the movies that don't make sense.Comment
