My GF and I are wavering on this...haven't seen this week's ep yet, but Jess has been almost too annoying lately. For us it's gone from cute/neurotic/quirky to just annoying. We'll probably watch this week's episode, but unless it gets better we'll probably stop recording.

Dialing it back is a bad idea.
That's who the character is. She's weird, she's socially ********, and she's awkward.

I think sometimes it takes away from the plausibility of the situations. Sometimes it really feels like she's Mork to me, but I won't stop watching if they don't tone her down. If they make it worse that might be problem, but she's been consistent this season.
I really didn't like Nick spilling the beans. It just seemed out of character for him to make that mistake.

I had this show added to my DVR list. After the first 2 shows I began to lose interest but still hung around, after a few more shows I wish I hadn't. Once you get past Zooey Deschanel's hotness it's clear everyone else on the show has little to no talent and are not funny at all.
It really pisses me off that crap like this remains on TV when a show like Detroit 187 gets canned.Comment

I like 2 Broke Girls as well but I'd put New Girl easily ahead of it. The jokes and humor in this show seem to flow far more naturally to me and make me laugh harder.
I can understand the "annoyed by Jess" angle though. For me, I find the adorkability endearing but I can see how others wouldn't. I guess that's the main caveat to enjoying the show.
It's my favorite new comedy of the last two years and one of the shows I look forward to most every week.Comment

We watched last week's ep and it was better. I think we'll keep going since it looks to be headed in a good direction.
