The Thing means Ben Grimm to me.

That just means you like really crappy comics. The FF are lame. Then again so is this movie.

        Re: The Thing

Well, actually The Thing (monster) came out before The Thing (Ben Grimm) and the 50's movie with James Arness was apparently not true to the book as much as the Kurt Russell remake in the 80's, which was pretty awesome for its' time. This movie a la the trailer just doesn't resonate with me, but a rental may be worth a shot.

The FF may have been lame on the screen, but the comic and the group are a classic. Mind your manners!

Looking forward to this as it's a prequel to the Carpenter film following the norwegian expedition mentioned in the carpenter film. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansit.../news/?a=47792

If Kurt Russel cameos, I'll watch it. If not then pass.

              Re: "The Thing" Remake

I am glad it's a prequel as I have had enough of the lame remakes. At least it will be connected to Carpenters film. I know it will follow the same formula but from the norwegian teams perspective which is fine with me. I don't expect it to be better which it won't but more of a compliment to the first film.

Saw this last night and wasn't aware that it was a remake till after the fact.

It's pretty cool if you're into the sci-fi/mysterious movies.

It's not a remake but a prequel to the carpenter film. It follows the norweigan team that's mentioned in the first film and shows what happened to them.
