    Re: Spartacus: Vengeance

I've enjoyed both episodes so far. I sigh a lot I miss Andy but, he is doing very well. I'm still very into all the characters and the story and that is the main thing. Can't wait for the 3rd episode tomorrow to see more of the story unfold.

I think Lucretia is gonna sleep with Glaber. This is my soap opera.

I think the new guy did MUCH better in the second episode. It seemed much more natural. The first episode was, to me, okay, but the second lived up to the expectations this series has in my eyes.

There was a certain scene in the first episode where something happened that I can't seem to recall right now but, he didn't have that look in his eye that Andy would of had. I think it was a scene when talking about his wife or something ,he didn't have that powerful look like it had happened to him is basically what I'm saying in short.

It kinda killed the scence for me but, was still enjoyable. And yeah he was better in the 2nd one and I expect it to continue. Crixis has been nothing short of great so far. His emotion really takes hold of a scene sometimes.

I know what scene you're talking about, and I saw it too. It reminded you that this particular actor doesn't really have any connection to this character's wife. At the end of the first season, even when he was with Mira, Spartacus's thoughts were still with Sura. But I feel like, all of a sudden, in season two, Spartacus is now involved with Mira. That's the biggest gripe I have in this early part of season two, is the expanded role that Mira seems to have. It just seems out of the blue to me.

[SPOILER] Agreed. I thought that threw time maybe they could have felt something for each other but, you find them screwing thier brains out in the first episode. I was thinking he pushed her off so many times in the first season that they would make it where he at least puts up a fight. Seems more passionate to me when he would finally let the barriers down but, I guess I can't always have it my way.

Not sure this really needs a spoiler but just in case.

Edit: Damn cell phones! Tried and failed.

Granted, this was his first episode as the character. I'm sure he'll grow into it more. It's very hard to take over an established character. He's also much younger than Whitfield and most of the other actors, and it is evident. He just looks younger, and it makes it a little harder to believe he's the leader when he looks to be about the youngest one there. The actor that plays Crixis is 42, the actor that plays Oenomaus is 52, the actor that played Barca is 41, Asher is 39, and Whitfield was 40, but Liam is just 29. The only Gladiator really around the same age is the actor who portrayed Gannicus, who's 30, but I think Liam looks quite a bit younger.
Damn, Oenomaus is 52? Dude is in ridiculous shape.

It took me an episode or 2 to get used to the new Spartacus but I'm digging the story so far this season.

I can't believe next week is already the season finale. Only 10 episodes. I've enjoyed the season so far. I don't think Liam is as good as Andy, but he's still pretty good in his own right. There haven't been as many "holy ****" moments this year, but tonights episode had a couple of them. Really looking forward to the season finale, even if I wish it wasn't the season finale.

Agreed. I missed episode 7 but, luckily caught the last two episodes. Definitely wish Andy was still with us, RIP. Tonights episode should be great, the last episode of the season "Kill Them All" from the 1st season was just insane. I'm pumped for the last episode but, I to don't wish it to end. I definitely didn't expect a lot of main characters to make it threw out this season but, they did it was unexpected.

I'm hoping that bastard Asher finally gets whats coming to him but, I really do like and hate his character. Kinda like Batiatus.

Any news on a 3rd season or is this it?

Yup, they renewed for another season back in November. Can't wait to see the finale to this one, though.

What a crazy finale. I will miss some of the characters that went to the afterlife this last episode. Looking forward to next season.

Hopefully this show ends next season and they don't try to artificially stretch it out too long.
