Re: Sons Of Anarchy Season 4
So essentially, this season never happened, minus Piney getting killed and Jax taking the gavel. Both important, but after watching a full season, I'd like a little more than that.
This finale left so many questions, which finales tend to do, but in a bad way.
After all this talk of the Niners running Oakland, it really wasn't them, but a new mystery gangster? Huh?!
Tara, after wanting to leave Charming all season, now in a span of 1 hour (not even...) is not only ok with staying, but is taking her spot as Jax's old lady at the head of the table? Huh?!
So the CIA shut down the DA just as they spend tons of money and get everyone gathered...they couldn't do this sooner?! Why wait until the DA spends 75000 manpower hours, or whatever he said, to shut them down?! The taxpayers of charming are going to be very pissed off, lol.
If I ever go to prison, I want to go to wherever Bobby was, so I can bring a guitar. I've always heard prison is luxurious, but I never knew how much.
I'm not even going to touch the many things that happened, and yet didn't, because of things revealed in this episode.
This finale seemed more like a season premiere or episode right before a finale.Comment

Re: Sons Of Anarchy Season 4
That AOL review lost me when the reviewer said "I didn't much like the season 3 SOA finale"..
With that said, I loved this season up until last night. This finale was a HUGE disappointment. They destroyed the RICO case 5 minutes into the episode. When Romeo pulled out his badge, I cringed.. Yeah it was a twist that almost nobody saw coming but it was a completely stupid twist. It made no sense and felt forced. The only thing that would have been worse would be Opie sitting at the table in the end. The writers backed themselves into a corner and took a very easy way out.
It's crazy how bad these 2 finale episodes were compared to just 2 weeks ago when Opie shot Clay. At that moment, you just couldn't wait to see how these last 2 episodes would shape up. This whole conclusion felt rushed and was very anti climatic.
Best part of the finale was seeing Mackey again..Great season until the end. See ya in September when hopefully this stench will wear off.Last edited by NYYanks26; 12-07-2011, 03:47 PM.Comment

As usual, I'm in the minority
I loved the finale and the twists from last night, We all know we are in for a 7 season ride here, so you can't have all the chickens coming to roost in season 4
For me, this show is all about getting to 7..because in season 7 there will be hell to pay
Charlie Hunnam is flat out killing it right nowComment

Re: Sons Of Anarchy Season 4
I've thought that this season of Sons has been one of the best individual seasons of any television drama, but I was very disappointed in the finale. It was like they wrote all these great plots and all these characters come to breaking point conflict, and then they realized that there was three more seasons of the show, and they slammed a big pause button right before the conclusion of many of the plot threads.Comment

Re: Sons Of Anarchy Season 4
Best part of the whole episode was when Potter brought the whole bag of toys and the doll to nail Hale. Classic lolThere is no place like Nebraska
Dear old Nebraska U.
Where the girls are the fairest,
The boys are the squarest,
Of any old school that I knew.
There is no place like Nebraska,
Where they're all true blue.
We'll all stick together,
In all kinds of weather,
For Dear old Nebraska U!
Won't change this signature until Nebraska wins the National Championship...posted 8/16/05Comment

Was that a season finale I just watched? Seemed like all it did was set up next season.
Very disappointed. Worst episode of the season IMO."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

I am in no way trying to start an argument. I just want to discuss....
Some of you complaining about "not enough action" - is that all you watch the show for? How about enjoying the best performances we've had the whole series? Or appreciating the development of these characters? Think about the first season and how much things have changed. It's unbelievable in my mind that in just 4 seasons every character has been broken down and rebuilt into their true selves.
I love where this season ended up and how it got there. This season took us to some very dark places. I enjoyed every minute of it. The acting was superb and the writing was top notch. You can't expect them to follow the same outline every year of having a main character die every season finale. If Im ranting now, I'm sorry.
I admit, the finale left a lot of loose ends and it sucks waiting for next September, but after this season, I'm on board more than ever. We're on a 7 part ride here people, buckle up and enjoy it.
And did some of you actually expect Clay to be dismissed from the show that easily? C'mon....Comment

When people view this series as a whole and not just an episode or a season at a time I think it'll will be apparent just how awesome that closing scene was.Comment

Re: Sons Of Anarchy Season 4
Gemma is my least favorite character on the show and it was nice to see her looking completely worthless at the end. Tara just literally became Gemma and Gemma knows it. Other than that, it was a giant letdown for me.
This review sums up my feelings on the finale perfectly:
Everything she says is absolutely spot on.
Based on that alone how important is her opinion? But there's more.
This is the essence of her review:
If every event can be walked back or undone (Clay being shot, Juice committing suicide, Otto betraying the club, the club facing a RICO threat, Clay attempting to kill Tara), then nothing has much weight any more, does it? Anything that can be reset that easily just feels less important, less real.
Every event was walked back or undone? Have you seen Piney walking around with a gaping hole in his chest lately? Now come on, what did Otto really give the Feds? Bobby's not in jail for what could be a long time?Tig didn't kill the black daughter of a mobster with repercussions to follow? The club facing a RICO threat? That was undone? Every TV mobster or criminal (see Tony Soprano) faces a RICO threat almost continually. It's either squelched or put aside for later so the show can continue. If it wasn't neutralized by the CIA picking a cartel side, it would been tabled by FBI/law enforcement bungling, the murder of Juice, the Irish meeting not happening. Pick your poison- the Sons ain't going down by RICO anytime soon!!
I thought Juice should have died at the hands of the club, not by suicide. That should of have done before season's end, however the author of this review feels that the viewer was ripped off by the chain rope not killing Juice. The hanging should not have taken place at all.
If Clay getting a surprise pass to live again is the ultimate contrivance, so what? We get to see him at the table headed by Jax, getting treated like a piece of sh*t, with most of the club not knowing why. A big leap from realism? Yes. Entertaining- also YES.Comment

Re: Sons Of Anarchy Season 4
Also feels weird to me that Clay lives. All this build up, and it feel like "oh ****, this show can't go on for 3 more season if Clay is dead".
This season was, to me, the opposite of what a lot of people felt about S3 (tho not me, I loved S3): whole season was great, finale was a little lackluster.
Overall, it was a good episode, but not great. It'll be interesting to see Jax at the head of the table for a few season, figured the end of S5 would be when he took the gavel....Comment

Re: Sons Of Anarchy Season 4
Season 4 was polar opposite of what season 3 was for me. I didn't enjoy season 3 as much as I did the first 2 mainly because I'm not big on babies being kidnapped story-lines. Did anyone think that Abel was ever in any real danger? Because I didn't, but I digress. What I didn't like about season 3 was all made up for and more by a kick*** finale that is one of my favorite episodes of any show, period.
Season 4 differed from 3 because it great through the better part of the season, but in my opinion the episode were Clay was shot at the end felt more like a season finale than the last two. Although, I know that the Sopranos also had few seasons were the bigger stuff happened 2 or 3 episodes before the finale too, so it's not like this is anything new.
So to recap season 3 was okay through most the season then had a kick*** finale while season 4 was kick*** through most of the season then had an okay finale. Just my .02
After thinking about it for a few days now, I think that Clay sitting in Piney's seat will add an interesting dynamic and I'm intrigued by the possibilities. However, I find it a bit far fetched for Opie to sit at that table with him. My hopes is that Opie makes a heel turn and either goes rouge or creates his own club which rival's Jax and the Sons.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague
