I don't think she's a ghost either, but she knows how the house works and is trapped by it as well. She may not be entirely "human".

Re: American Horror Story
One thing I'm confused on...
Spoiler
How is the mistress at the door in the preview for tonight's episode? I know sprits can roam free on Halloween, but I just thought they could leave the area of the house of which they are bound too. I thought the whole point of building the gazebo was to keep the mistress from ever showing up again? Or was it to keep the cops from finding her? Did the gazebo get torn down and I missed that part? I know the gay couple say it should be torn down.

Re: American Horror Story
SpoilerFrom what I can tell is that if the body is never found by someone and moved off the property, the spirit stays there. So when he poured the concrete of the Gazebo to hide Hayle from the cops, he inadvertantly trapped on the house's property for good. That's why the maid started crying when he put up the gazebo, she needs to have her bones moved from what I can tell, now its not going to happen
One other question I have had for a while is that I think Candace said to the Maid, Don't make me kill you again. Its very odd that the maid is seen differently by different people. Almost like she continued living and aging after she was killed the first time.Last edited by fistofrage; 11-02-2011, 12:57 PM.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Not sure what's up with the Maid aging and others not and I have no idea how the maid could be killed again.Comment

Re: American Horror Story
I believe the Maid is a succubus/Jezebel-type ghost. She is a young temptress in the eyes of males and the older form in the eyes of females. Possibly because she was killed right after the Doctor (original owner) had sex with her, her spirit is a different form than a regular ghost.Comment

Re: American Horror Story
All the ghosts are different though. Hayden came back looking like a zombie,Tate looks perfectly normal (assuming he is a ghost and isn't just a runaway staying in their basement),the gay guys looked normal and the girl from a couple of weeks ago had a hole in the back of her head.Comment

Re: American Horror Story
Great Episode!
SpoilerNow we know Tate is not a ghost and was Addie's son. It also looked as if what he told Dr. Ben in the first episode about shooting up the school is true.
Maybe they need Violet to stay alive because of all the sins caused by Constance and Tate, they need a virgin who is innocent of all wrong doings to undo their curse of living forever and being haunted by these ghosts?Comment

So Tate isn't a ghost, we know that for sure? How could he kill people in school and it was about 16 years ago? The girl said she should be 34, let's say she was a senior in HS when/if Tate killed her, that would be 16 years ago. He can't be in his 30's... Can he?
And I think you meant we know Tate is Constance's son. If Tate isnt a ghost, how old is he? If he's Constance's son, she is up there in age, Addy was in her 30's, correct? So did she have him after her husband died with another man?
I'm confused.Comment

Re: American Horror Story
I still think Tate is a ghost. Remember, he decided to go on the date with Violet on Halloween because he knew he could leave the house.
I think Tate shot up the school, then maybe committed suicide at the house or something, which is why his spirit is still around. Though, he wasn't returning to the house with everyone else at the end.... so maybe not.
Man, I love this show.Comment
