I like them. I'm glad they went against the grain on their last album. Hoping they do the same on their next disc which they are currently working on in the studio

Funeral for a Friend's new album, "Conduit", releases at the end of this month. Here's an album sampler... Gonna kick *** as per usual. Hopefully this link works, I'm on mobile...

I hear Phoenix is coming out with a new album sometime late Spring. Looking forward to that. Also, Black Keys are going to go back into the stuido to record an album sometime this year.

Good. El Camino wore out quick with me.

I've been listening to The Kills, Modest Mouse, and The Black Lips a lot this week. I miss old school Modest Mouse.

Yeah, El Camino isn't one that I listen to all the way through very often. I always go back to the older ones for that. Especially Thickfreakness and Rubber Factory. Some good tracks on it though.

New Bad Religion tomorrow. Hopefully, it's better than the Murphys new one. BR has been pretty hit or miss since the Grey Race, so I'm trying to temper my expectations.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have a new cd coming out March 18. That seems to be all the interests me until the new Alice In Chains and or Tool if it's indeed released this year.

Howl is still my favorite, but the rest of the albums are always fun to listen to.

Easily and I hope they make another like it, but I think they will continue to blend the two styles as that worked well on the last cd.

The new Funeral For a Friend doesn't remind me of the old style at all.

Yeah you're right. It's definitely heavier than anything I've heard by them besides a few random EP songs or b-sides. Also, right now my first couple listens have blended together.. It's a lot of a similar sound. I have begun to pick out certain riffs and catchy choruses. I think the singles (Best Friends & Hospital Beds, The Distance, and High Castles which was on the last EP) are the best so far, but with more time (and more focus, I've been half-listening while I work) I can feel other songs starting to grow on me.

I miss the drummers dirty vocals though. He's still in there on High Castles. Matt's found a great niche between old and new vocals, some of his best work IMO.

Just found out that the Menzingers and Hot Water Music are playing here next week for $16, but it says advance tickets are no longer available. Suck.

Anybody listened to Alison Mosshart's band before The Kills, Discount? Its definitely a lot more in line with Sleater-Kinney than anything else Mosshart has done.

Listening to it again tonight and I can't place the band the vocals remind me of. At first I wanted to say alexisonfire because of the vocal change to a grittier sound, but they still had cleans. Then I thought maybe Black Veil Brides because of the consistent tone, but it's still not "anthem-like" enough for comparison. I wish I could think of the band it reminds me of but it's totally escaping me.
