Re: Official Rock music thread
My definition of the perfect song. It should have been on Mellon Collie.
In addition to the Smashing Pumpkins, I'm a big fan of Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana & Pearl Jam.

Re: Official Rock music thread
Got a couple of cool shows coming up to go to.
A Day To Remember, All Time Low, Pierce the Veil, and The Wonder Years on October 12th. Arena tour... never been to one like that. Kind of an eclectic mix here, ADTR & PTV are a bit more hardcore, with ATL & TWY being more my general style. I am one of those people that enjoys older ATL more, but my brother is in to them. When TWY was announced as support later, I had to check them out again. They were awesome in March.
Just got tickets to A Loss For Words, Handguns, Major League, The Sheds, City Lights, and Heroes of Modern Earth in early October. Really like the first three bands, ALFW has a new album coming so they're co-headlining with Handguns, who I've heard to have an awesome live performance. Really hyped on Major League. Haven't listened to the others much, but interested in seeing how they are.
Should be a fun month.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: Official Rock music thread
I know we've got some Polar Bear Club fans on here. They've released two songs from their new album, Death Chorus. Here they are: (NSFW)

I like the first slightly better than the second, but if this is what the whole album is going to be, I'm going to be severely disappointed. It's such a huge departure from what they had done in their first three albums, and, IMO, it's a major step back. I loved the vocals on the first three albums. They were very gritty and well done in general. This is such a major step back an it just doesn't work for me. I like both songs. They sound fine. Just a bit of a disappointment.MLB: Minnesota Twins

European Football: Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion
NCAA: UNI Panthers, Iowa Hawkeyes

Re: Official Rock music thread
Only heard the first one when they released it and I felt the same way.
Sounds like the lead vocalist is losing that edge. Similar thing happened to Rise Against's Tim McIlrath. There's a hint of that grittiness to his vocals still, but it's not the same as the first couple of albums. That's what pulled me in to PBC because I loved RA's original music and it was almost a replacement of sorts.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
