Haha i remember the first time I heard RATM and Chris Cornell were forming together, had to have been close to 15 years ago (age alert!), me and my college roommate flipped the hell out. Then Cochise came out ... that whole album was awesome

Audioslave was the first concert I went to. I had to suffer through Jared Leto and Seether. Chris did about 5 solo songs. Afterwards I had to mime my shirt size to the vendor as I had yelled my voice out during the show.

I'm going to see Modest Mouse in a couple of weeks. I saw them open for R.E.M. a few years back, and they were incredible. I'm pretty pumped for this show.

I thought it was pretty solid too. I don't think they'll put out anything as great as the first four projects were, but I think this album was definitely better than the last few.

As expected, Modest Mouse was awesome last night. Great show.

And they played Breakthrough, which made me very happy.

Been listening to a lot of Have Mercy lately. Not sure exactly what genre they would fit in to, but they remind me of Manchester Orchestra. Definitely vocally, but I don't listen to too much of them to definitively say sonically as well.

Also, LOL at Tidal. No one is gonna shell out 20 bucks a month to stream high quality audio. The people who want that experience are going to do it through a service that isn't streaming.

Spotify remains king to me. I feel like I get my money's worth every month.

20 bucks what is Jay-Z smoking, i give Tidal maybe 2 years if that with a high price point when Spotify and Beats are half the price with just as good audio quality, Spotify is the top dog as you said

Tidal's introduction and the way they launched actually caused Spotify and Pandora to see an increase in downloads and premium subscriptions. Everybody who put money into Tidal is gonna take an L.

                                Really? That's hilarious.

You wouldn't know it, but Tidal actually offers a $10/mo option for regular streaming. They didn't push that plan.

I get it, they want to push the higher quality audio at the higher price point. That's what separates them. But I really think saying we have what they have also would have helped ease the pain of a twice as much price point.

They still lose because they simply don't have the foothold Spotify/Rdio has or the same amount of songs and available and added daily. There's no reason to migrate from Spotify to Tidal.

I read that having the artists back this thing is a vote for better distribution of money to the actual artists, which is important. But I feel like Jay-Z is more a businessman then artist these days. Good idea, not sure if it was executed properly. Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie felt the same, and thought bringing smaller acts then the megastars they featured would've gave this notion of better pay for the artists then other services more weight.
