I met Ty Burrell (the actor who plays Phil) last night at a bar. Spoke with him for 5 minutes. Pretty damn cool. Went up to him and told him how awesome he is, how great the writing is, etc. Mentoned that Levitan and Lloyd did my favorite show ever and he's like "wow, you know your stuff man, if you know the writers and whatnot". Asked him if he was doing anything else and he said mostly the show.

Then we started talking about sports teams. Asked us (my buddies and I) about our school, etc.

Wish I asked him if they needed any help on the show. Like, anything.

Very, very nice guy. Had a lot of people chatting with him obviously. He was with some dude from Mad Men (not Hamm), they bought my friend a drink for his birthday. Very cool. One of the few star encounters that I've had in LA that actually matters me, considering that aside from Larry David, he's probably my favorite person on TV right now. Too awesome!

That's awesome. He seems like the kind of guy that would be easy to talk to and have a conversation with.

As you know, he kind of muddled around a bit in Hollywood until he landed this role. Good for him.

And one of the reasons why I love this cast is because they respect the writers. I will always mention how Julie Bowen thanked the writers first when she won her Emmy. That's vital. Not many actors realize that the writers are the creators of the characters (no disrespect to the directors or actors who play a large role in defining those characters, but the writers break the mold).

So I'm glad for you that you mentioned Levitan and Lloyd and especially glad that Ty appreciated that.

Yeah, I mentioned how if it wasnt for Levitan/Lloyd and seeing him in the show with Grammer and Patricia Heaton (the name slipped but he picked it up for me, lol) Back to You, I may not have even tuned into the show but that I was glad I did. I'm sure he appreciated that I noticed his work in that show. He was pretty damn funny in his minor role for that one.

Just thanked him for being a part of a truly great show, something that gets me through the week lol.

Too bad I didn't meet Vergara or Bowen, LOL.
