    Scarface (Remake/Reimage)

New Scarface Movie in the Works
Universal wants you to say hello to their little friend again.

Universal wants you to say hello to their little friend again.

Deadline reports that the studio is developing a new Scarface movie via Martin Bregman, producer of the 1983 remake of the 1932 gangster classic, and Marc Shmuger.

"The film is not intended to be a remake or a sequel. It will take the common elements of the first two films: an outsider, an immigrant, barges his way into the criminal establishment in pursuit of a twisted version of the American dream, becoming a kingpin through a campaign of ruthlessness and violent ambition," according to the site. The studio is keeping the new Scarface's ethnic origins a secret.

So basically they're making "just another movie" but attaching the Scarface name to it simply to generate interest.

Nothing good can come from this
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

I'm not happy about this at all, they need to leave this alone. The remake wasn't perfect, but everything worked so well.......especially the soundtrack added a lot to the film.

                Bad idea

This gives me the sudden urge to play the Scarface game again for PS2.

The general idea of Scarface is pretty broad so why use the name again? I mean the first two movies were AMAZING (i've seen both) so why sully the brand with this crap?

I bet the outsider is an Arab for the shock value.

The second Scarface is the Brian DePalma/Al Pacino version. Not really a second one as in a sequal, but a retelling. The original is from 1932 I believe, haven't seen it in probably 10 years but it's worth watching if you like old movies.

Oops, never realized the 1983 film was a remake.

EDIT: lol thanks scruffy, your post appeared right as I posted this.
