I don't know if I blame them. Bartman was whisked away into the security room. They probably weren't being updated as to what was happening. They had been seen with him and it wasn't exactly the most safe environment for anyone that could be connected to him. They probably just got the hell out of Dodge. I'm not sure if I could say I would have stuck around.

Re: Catching Hell
I found the documentary fascinating and I really liked hearing the perspective of those fans that were near Bartman during the game. Bartman did exactly what any other fan sitting in that same seat would have done with a ball coming at them. It's the same old story with a lot of Cubs fans. They always think "this is their year" and when things go wrong they all want to point the blame finger at anything other than the product on the field. Their Cubs can do no wrong in their eyes, and they never take into account that the Cubs can't handle adversity and the players aren't held accountable. Bartman might have cost them 1 out, but they had a 3-0 lead at that time and in no way, shape, or form did he cause them to give up 8 runs. The error on the double play ball had more impact on that outcome than the Bartman play did, yet that play is rarely mentioned. It's easier to make Bartman the scapegoat rather than one of their own.Last edited by crques; 09-28-2011, 11:07 AM.Comment

Re: Catching Hell
Good Doc. As a Cubs fan though I could have gone with out.. Though.
Nothing really new in the Doc though. Some of the Fans/Writers perspectives was nice.
It's really easy to hate Cub fans after this Doc, but in the heat of the Moment... Who knows.

Re: Catching Hell
I really liked it. What stuck with me was how weak of a leap Moises Alou made going after the ball. He got about 1 foot off the ground. A very un-athletic play from a "professional athlete". I couldnt get over that fact. That and the fact that he closed his eyes at the last second. Throwing a fit after an effort like that made me smh.Texas. Football. All. Day.Comment

Re: Catching Hell
Actually, they show a vantage point without any fan interference that shows he would have probably caught the ball had the interference not happened.Comment
