I do, however, also really like what the Jefferson character brought to the show in later years. If it weren't for him, there would have been less nudie bar trips, possibly no NO MA'AM and a few other quirks that happened in the later years.

I must admit that all four episodes that David Garrison appeared in after he left the show were solid.

^^^^ I just watched an episode that featured the ummmm "fat chick". When Al started the No Maam church, Marcy came to the service. Al called for his bodyguard then Marcy called on hers. Dude sized her up and said "Dang" and moved out the way.

            Re: Married... with Children

Married....With Children is a show that could never be made today in these Political Correct times. I just loved the bawdy humor and the aggressiveness of it. In a lot of ways MWC is in the pantheon of the very few American sitcoms with the British sitcom outlandishness. (for the record the others IMO are Night Court, Just Shoot Me and Two and a Half Men) Some of the things on MWC was just out and out crazy. In a lot of ways you could say it was the '90s All in The Family except the focus was more on the sexual politics/gender roles and macho male misogyny rather than the socio-political slant of AITF.

That being said Al Bundy is one of the great characters in TV history to me. I loved his frankness and even though he always professed to hating being intimate with Peg there was always a glimmer of a real love between the two and indeed the entire family as a whole.

            A couple things:

Early Jefferson was slightly better than the entire Steve tenure though as the show went on with Jefferson his character got worse so it's about equal to me.

Bud's Grandmaster B period was pretty funny too

unfortunately FOX treated the series horribly in it's last couple seasons. Admittedly the ratings were in the toilet but i'd have allowed it to have a proper send off as it along with The Simpsons shot FOX up to the national prominence.

It was a show I was raised on. It was the All in the Family for the Nineties. In an episode of Bernie Mac David Faustino is dating Christina Applegate and its weird. They're like brother and sister for real lol.

Married with Children is greatness. Complete and utter greatness.

Never is a show so "dumb" yet so "smart".

                  Ballsy, hilarious, and often male-oriented.

I think MWC came out when I was like 4-5. Maybe a little younger. I found it on Netflix and couldn't help myself from watching an episode everyday.

Marcy easily became one of my favorite characters.

As stated before, Grandmaster B was hilarious.

Steve was the funniest character while he was on there, IMO.

And I'd kill to find a "NO M.A.A.M" shirt.

I figured if it was aired on TV and I NSFW'd it it'd be okay. Glad a mod got it though.

Amen on Steve's dry humor. His character was a lot more "real" to me than Jefferson, although I am a fan of both.

And I actually have a NO MA'AM shirt somewhere buried in the back of my closet. I'll have to dig it out some time.

I couldn't justify buying a DVD set of the show.

It's on TV way, way, way too much as is. Between local channels and TBS there are like 10 episodes per day it seems.

Didn't it air on Nick @ Nite for a while too?

Might actually need a bit of a break from it.

While it is on TV in heavy syndication, the episodes you see on TV are cut for television which means 2-3 minutes from each episode is missing. Some classic scenes are cut out of a few of them. There is a list of cuts for the entire series episode by episode online somewhere that when you add it up equals about 9 hours are cut out in total. That alone makes it worth a purchase to me.
