Dunno if you're being sarcastic, but------she is and always has been gay. Before Ellen came out, she was in the closet..and played a straight woman on the series.

There was an episode where Al fell for her "gay cousin" (played by herself), but that was as close to coming out as she got.

I was serious. I had no clue.

She did a pretty good job at playing a straight, constantly-horny woman. She did an even better job at being one of the most loathsome characters in TV history.

I gotta say when I first found out she's lesbian I was floored. The thought never crossed my mind which just goes to show she had some fine acting chops. I mean, even actors from back in the day who were gay but kept it hidden always had a little something "off" in their acting/roles.

Oh and yeah, no man could live with a woman like that OR Peg. If Al, Steve/Jefferson were real people those two would be on the side of the road "lost" after a trip with their husbands.

I've been catching a lot of old reruns of Family Ties on the HUB and I just realized something that I never had before. I noticed that the Kelly Bundy character owes a lot to the Mallory Keaton character. A lot Kelly's quirks, subtle ignorance and overall demeanor remind me so much of Mallory.

Sure, Kelly Bundy was way more over the top (especially with the recurring promiscuity) but without Mallory Keaton before her I highly doubt that Kelly would have ended up just the way she is.

I'm not accusing Christina Applegate of being a Justine Bateman "ripoff" by any means, mind you. I just think it is obvious that Christina watched a lot of Family Ties growing up and picked up some of her signature mannerisms and reactions.

In any event, Christina Applegate ought to send Justine Bateman a hell of a Christmas card every year.

Those clips are half of why Married with Children is a classic.

Jefferson is also a favorite character of all-time for mine. Always laughing at Marcy, and the first time I saw the Christmas episode shown at the end I was dying as he grabbed the little boys in line going "Marcy? Oh sorry, I thought you were my wife."

The rest of the club was awesome too.

The second best sitcom of all time (only behind Seinfeld) to me.

I'm probably the one guy in America who never found Seinfeld funny. At all.Both he as a comedian and his show. But I digress...

So many hilarious episodes of MWC, I wouldn't be able to pick a favorite!

Remember when it was okay on network sitcoms to blatantly make fun of your coworker? The writers actually sat down in a writing room and deliberately found new ways to insult a cast member.
