According to ComingSoon.net, Michael Bay is close to coming to terms with Paramount in directing a fourth Transformers film.
Honestly, aside from J.J. Abrams, I don't really know who else should be touching this material anyway. I'd rather have the consistency. It's not like a director can completely flip the ugly script, anyway. Bay knows how to hold an action scene together; he might as well be the right guy for this.
Dark of the Moon was, IMO, a big step up from Revenge of the Fallen. There were issues that the first Transformers movie didn't seem to have which carried over from the second movie to the third, but it was still improved on. I hope Bay can really pull himself together this time, though.
Either way, I'd say we're still three summers away from another release.
