I really liked this movie for what it was. It's obvious the Seals aren't actors, but seeing them in action was great, down to their silent signals via a pat or squeeze on the shoulder.

Most reviewers are saying this movie is nothing more than a high budget recruitment video.

With the prevalence of internet douchebaggery, I'm not surprised that that's what people think.

Yep.

People are definitely going to knock it down just because it involves the military. They can't see past their own warped views to actually see the brave men and women who serve in our military.
Sad to say...they will never get it....unless they get a kick directly in their face...where they live....or to someone they love. Even then...they'd probably still deflect.
It's easy to do from behind a keyboard, I'm sure.

To be fair, the Creators of the film did say the original idea back in 2006 was for this to be a Recruitment video to get more minority applicants for the Seals. of course it ended up being much bigger than that. of course Critics won't like it because the Seals are not really actors but I don't think that's the point.

i was going to go see it but I've changed my mind. i'm all for a good military movie but from what I've read there isn't really a story behind it.

I haven't seen it but I don't know why people can't have a bad review of a movie.

I certainly didn't mean all of them.
I didn't mean for it to come across like that.

But I have had this argument with relatives....who are(can't really say it without making it political).....XXXXXXXX ....who will knock anything that has to do with the military. I'm not going to get further into it here....because it's absurd, but I could absolutely see this college professor voting down anything and everything that involves the USA and it's policies.
I actually had to ask him to leave my home on one occasion.

I am a big fan of a lot of war/military related films. Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, Paths of Glory and Patton are among some of my favorite films of all time. I also thought the Band of Brothers mini series on HBO was amazing.

This film in particular, however, is pretty much universally being trashed by critics and movie goers nationwide.

I agree that it isn't fair to trash a motion picture just because it has to do with war/the military, but on the same token it isn't fair to praise it just for that reason either. Good movies are good and bad movies are bad, regardless of subject matter. This just happens to be a really bad movie that has to do with war/the military.

It was alright. Pretty much a live action Call of Duty campaign.
