They probably learned the Netflix lesson. Don't **** up things with your customers if they like you the way you are.

I think they might lose a few customers due to their crazy data prices. I'll be a new Sprint customer in two days.

Say you go into a gas station and simply want a can of Pepsi, the gas station loses money in the scenario if you pay with a card.

Yeah, they don't lose money as unless I'm wrong, they pay a % not a fee for each transaction. So if you buy 20 $1 packs of gum in individual transactions or all in one transaction, the CC company gets the same amount.

Now there could be thresholds put in place that go by the # of transactions though that change the % fee.

Verizon just wanted to get some of that money back as they have to support the website to pay and also pay the fee, so they are losing money on the convenience.

My thinking is that this has something to do with Verizon wanting payments in a more structured way. If I'm not mistaken they would have to pay the same CC fees with the Auto-pay anyways, so why are they pushing people toward that?

They must want to get people's money on the same day (Auto-pay), not spread out over a larger window. Probably helps them somehow. Anyways I'm glad it didn't go through, power to the people!!

Hmmm what bills put a fee on me?

                  Car insurance: $3
                  Piedmont natural gas: $2
City of Charlotte water bill: $3

                  LAME!

So I pay them to pay them?

Seriously, it's not like they weren't already profitting off of the services they provide (a text message cost like 1/36th of a cent to send), now you have to add this fee? I'm glad the FCC shut this down. It was ridiculous.

We went to prepaid phones. Sure I miss my Android apps, but I'd much rather pay under 100$ a month then almost 200$. I can buy a new game every month with the money we are saving.

On top of that we get better service with these phones then I did with my Droid. Go figure.

3 lines, 2 active, 1 inactive. How we pay as much as we did was a mystery to me. That's why I was like peace out.

I'm right there with you. Luckily I live in an area where T-mobile is a good choice. $49.99 Unlimited everything for each line. (5GB data cap, then lower speeds, but how many people need over 5 anyway?)

I pay $120 for 2 iPhones, unlimited data, 1000 text each.

I think you messed up. We got a discount from my wife's work that saves $15/month. Look into that next time, they have discounts for everything.

Damn I pay $160/mo for 2 Androids. 700 Family Share mins, 750 texts and both with unlimited email & web for smartphones. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
