I haven't seen any movie made before 1970 other than 'Night of the Living Dead' and 'The Wizard of Oz.' I just can't get into movies that lack any real special effects, a la stop motion, or that are in black and white. I also haven't seen any John Wayne, or Bruce Lee movie.

Re: Famous Movies you Haven't Seen
I watched Avatar once and thought it was really good, but I've never had the desire to re watch it.
I've never watched the LOTR movies.
I've never watched The Matrix
I've never watched Star Wars
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Scarface really. I've seen it and like the movie a lot, but I would imagine most would pass (It's actually instant-streaming on Netflix ATM)Comment

Re: Famous Movies you Haven't Seen
Nothing makes me feel older than hearing someone has never seen a Star Wars movie.
I've been on a major movie kick the last couple years. Used the AFI Top 100 and IMDB Top 250 as starting points. The most famous movie I haven't yet watched is probably Seven Samurai. Spartacus and On the Waterfront are on the PVR. Can't really think of a "famous" movie from the last 25-30 years that I haven't watched, aside from junk like Twilight and the Transformers sequels, etc.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Also, the only Twilight movie I have seen is the first one. Then I tried to watch the 2nd one, and made it about 15 minutes in before I realized just how much of an epic chick flick it was, and haven't watched a minute of the series since.Comment

Re: Famous Movies you Haven't Seen
Because the AFI is a joke. The Sting is actually one of my 20 favorite films of all-time and even though I am a huge mark for westerns, I find The Sting to be FAR superior of the other, more well known film that Newman/Redford did.
Besides, the AFI only considers American made films when compiling their little lists when the fact of the matter is that there was so much great cinema coming out of Japan and Europe that its not even funny.
Out of my ten favorite directors of all-time, only four of them were American born. Two Italians, one Japanese, one British, one French and one Swedish make up the other six.Comment

Far preferable to American institutions that nominally include non-Americans for athlete-of-the-year awards consideration, then completely ignore them (I'm looking at you, Sports Illustrated and Associated Press).Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: Famous Movies you Haven't Seen
I understand that. What I meant was that by segregating everything not American it just makes the whole thing meaningless. Especially when it comes to something that is so universally international like film-making.Comment

Re: Famous Movies you Haven't Seen
Watching Godfather 2 for the 1st time.
Why does it look like the everyone aged 10+ years if this movie came out 2 years later. It probably was makeup. But, the family lawyer was starting to lose his hair and Michael looked like he was in his 20s now he looks like he is in 40s.

Re: Famous Movies you Haven't Seen
I know Godfather 2 is often the most lauded one, but I've always preferred the first one to the second one. Micheal's ascension to power is just more interesting and mesmerizing to me than Vito's.

Re: Famous Movies you Haven't Seen
Since, I never saw GF. I thought De niro was a crime boss. I never new he was Vito. So, I was little lost until I realized that it was in the past.
SpoilerI can understand why Freido wanted something for his self.
They treated him as a errand boy. And They skipped over him to Michael.
I liked how he knew he was going to die after Mchael gave him the Kiss of death.
I read on IMDB that Director had to fight to get Pacino as Michael. Some of the Producers and cast membors didnt want him as Michael. The other candidates for Michael were Robert De Niro, Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson
I also read that Pacino went for another role in a different movie. When they accepted them and bought out his contract, De Niro took that same role.Comment
