I think that was the most I've laughed at ANY Mad Men episode (which really isn't much).

Stressed out Pete; Roger blowing the surprise, cracking the one-liners; Crane embarrassing himself with Meagan.

Great premiere! I wonder why this new Don is so cheery though. And how long it will last.

Not entirely. Don seems to like those types of games. Remember the hooker in season 4?

                Not at all.

She knows how to get Don all riled up, it seems. She knew that he'd alpha the **** up and say screw you, I'm having my cake.

That was classic Don Draper, IMO.

                  Analysis of the episode

I have a feeling–something more like an inchoate theory–that ten years from now this show will be remembered as having belonged to Sally, but I’ll share that when I can muster up more evidence.
This is the same feeling I have the more I watch the show and watch her character grow and evolve, and what makes it significant, IMO, is that almost all of her changes she is forced to do it by herself.

I was surprised, starting with her disrobing to clean up, but not baffled. She started a game, maybe as early as when she left work, and Don was more than willing to play.

Megan is becoming a great character.

Sally Draper is the best actor on the show imo as well as the most interesting character.

While I find Don/Dick to be the most interesting character, I agree that Kiernan Shipka has been doing fantastic work is deserving of an Emmy nomination. There are so many horrible child/teen actors and characters on TV, but Shipka has turned Sally Draper into one of the most compelling characters on TV.

                            Dear lord fat Betty.

Good episode, first interesting thing involving Betty in this show in quite some time.

I tried to take Betty's scenes seriously. But Fat Betty just makes me chuckle. How long is the gap between the premiere and this one? She was still normal, thin Betts in the last episode.

Pete's douchiness is taking it to the next level. I'm thinking he's getting his initial on SCDP by the end of the season.

Also, that girl Don was talking to backstage in the Rolling Stones concert was cute.

Season 4 ended in October 1965. Season premiere was June 1966. So, its been roughly 8-9 months between seasons. Definitely more than enough time for Betty to balloon up.

Pete is blazing a trail, that's for sure. In his quest to "out-do" Roger, he may be rounding up all the other big-wheels against him. Don didn't seem too impressed with the "unveiling." Roger still has me worried about how depressed he really is. His home/marriage life is ****. Pete is making his work life ****. Dude said he's basically hanging on by his finger tips.

Harry continues to be a supreme knucklehead.
