Is it the stock heat sink? If it is I assume it's blowing air to the side of the case. Do you have a side fan? Make sure that fan is sucking air out.

      Possible AMD 300 series pricing

Pricing on AMD's entire range of upcoming Radeon 300 series graphics cards has been leaked and it's surprisingly higher than the 200 series.

Thought I had either my newly purchased 970gtx or my motherboard go out. I plugged a 2 nd monitor into my video card and my pc rebooted like 3 times and was acting all crazy. So I cleared the CMOS but then was having issues getting the system to boot. So did a clean windows install and I think things have stabilized. Talk about getting nervous.

People go on crapping on eachother for nothing but preference.

            80-100 degrees C.

The thing is when I first got everything hooked up it ran fine. I may try to take the side off my case and check the Temps then. If it still don't go down then something is wrong

How are the wires inside your case?

Are your cables neat and tucked away or are they just shoved into your case any old way? If they're not properly secured they could be interrupting airflow and causing issues with cooling inside the case.

Even the junkiest cable management won't make somebody's CPU temps hit 80 to 100 C.

Going to test with my case side off. It really shouldn't be overheating, I mean for the first 2 to 3 months this case was fine and my CPU didn't overheat.

I'm about to say **** it and take it to a CPU shop and see if they can fix it. I have 3 extra fans as well that I can add to it bit it seems to be a problem with my heat sink/CPU area. Everything else on Speccy shows normal temps.

What case do you have? And on that case what is your current fan configuration? If you have extra fans laying around you might as well add them now. Especially a side fan sucking air out. Just dead air doesn't seem like enough to make the CPU get that hot though.

I assume you have confirmed that your CPU fan is actually still spinning while the computer is on.

Before bringing it to a CPU shop you better off spending your money on a high end after market CPU cooler like a Arctic freezer. Then next thing I would check is your bios settings and make sure what your CPU fan speed setting is on. If its on automatic, change it to full then retest your temps under load. It could be a driver issue which is causing your CPU to not adjust to loads correctly. Look for things like smartfan enabled or something like that in bios.

I'm betting its one of these two. Both you come out way cheaper doing the fix yourself. Give me your motherboard model and I will find you a reasonable priced cooler.

Cooler Master 212 seems to be solid all-around cooler for roughly $30 that fits a number of sockets. I run one in my PC and my parents, and I believe a few other guys like trob vouch for it.

Unfortunately my case is too small for a 212. Good thing I did some quick research before submitting my order.

My case is a Thermaltake Versa H22. http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/produc...?id=C_00002300

I have around 50 or so to spend for my CPU cooler. Any suggestions?
