    How important is an SSD?

I know it helps with load times but do I really need one? If it is a must then what size should I get?

It's a luxury, not a necessity. What size you get depends on what you plan to use it for.

I will use it almost exclusively for gaming. I've never owned an SSD so I don't know what size to start with or if I even need it.

One would usually put the OS and most commonly used programs on the SSD while the rest go on a separate drive. Why? Because high-capacity SSDs aren't as cheap (yet).

I currently have a 256GB SSD as my main drive but I install my games on a regular HDD.

Again, you don't need an SSD. If you're going to get one though I would definitely recommend putting your OS on it as well, not just games. A 500GB would be decent depending on the amount and size of the games you plan on playing. You can get those for under $200 now. I would also of course recommend that you only install the games you play the most on the SSD, leaving the ones you play on occasion to the HDD.

I'm thinking about upgrading to an 8350 in my PC. I assume it's the same difficulty as originally putting in my current CPU was?

Speaking of SSDs, I need to figure out how crap keeps getting on mine since I install everything on my HDD.

I built my PC about 3 years ago and got a 128GB SSD as my primary drive. They were about $1 per gig back then.

It really is badass to be able to press the power button and be good to go in about 13-15 seconds.

For GTA I added a 250ish GB and found it on sale for $90. Just keep your eyes open for sales.

                    Insanely easy.

Just double check your connections. When I put mine in the SATA cable came loose after I put the siding back on

You will just have to format it and you can give it a drive letter and tell it how you want it partitioned. Just double check your case has extra slots for an SSD. If not see if it came with a HDD to SSD case holder converter (I have no idea what they are actually called). It will let the smaller SSD be held in place in the large HDD bay.

I have an SSD for boot drive and non-game programs. 250GB Samsung 840 Evo

my games are installed on a 2TB HDD, however, will need to look into getting a bigger drive soon, only about 300GBs free. Those Steam sales and always wanting to make sure everything is downloaded and installed for when I never play it.

Perosnally, I would drop that 512 SDD and get a smaller one and buy 2 1TB HDD to go along with it. Why have 512GB of storage when you can have 2TB and 1/3 worth of storage for the same price of that SDD ?

You can get a 256 GB SDD for $100
                                http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-MX100-...2680888&sr=1-1

You can get a 1 TB HDD for $50

So yeah get 2 of those $50 1TB HDD and that 256GB SSD for $200. That is better then your 512GB SSD for $200.
