Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
If anyone is interested in space and space video games, Universe Sandbox 2 is $20. You can pretty much do anything you want and it uses real physics. You can blow up planets, collide planets or moons into each other, blow up the sun. It's a fantastic fun game if you're into that sort of thing. Oh, and now you can collide galaxies. Man is that fun.
Also, Space Engine is $20. It's a one to one universe simulator. Not really a game. But more like exploration and learning about space. Thousands of real objects in space to visit. It stays updated so when new things are discovered they put it in the game.Comment

I used to use the Logitech G810 keyboard but went the custom keyboard route a year ago. I can't use mass produced keyboards after spending time with my custom mech. The typing experience alone is worth it. Expensive hobby to get into though but there are alot of cheap options to be found if you look hard enough.
I recently upgraded to the Autonomous Ergo Chair 2 from a Arozzi gaming chair that I had for roughy three years. It's a really good ergonomic chair with loads of adjustability. I've never sat in a Herman Miller chair but the Ergo Chair 2 seemed like the budget version of the Herman Millers.
What would you recommend?

I must say that playing on Madden in native 4k all ultra settings is a nice treat. I bought my rig to be a great 1440p gaming pc but after playing some games in 4k now I’m thinking of returning my Red Devil 5700XT and getting a 2080 super but not sure if I want to spend the extra $300 for it. I think this card is still a beast!

So this is why XCOM is as popular as it is. Freaking addicting as hell.

Just wait until you get into mods, assuming you're talking about XCOM 2 or War of the Chosen. There's some fantastic UI ones that make information that you have as a player much more clear, but still don't give you any more info that you don't have (not cheating, in other words)
I'm a huge fan of Enemy Unknown/Within as well, but XCOM 2's missions and maps being procedurally generated means the replayability is almost infinite.Comment

I'm going to assume (not trying to be offensive or anything!) that you have basic knowledge of mechanical keyboards.
Honestly it's hard to give a solid recommendation because the main thing with mechanical keyboards is the switches. Are you someone who likes loud clicky switches, someone who likes something quieter but with a "tactile" bump or someone who likes a smooth switch? Do you want a keyboard with a number pad or one without (Tenkeyless board), RGB or no RGB, etc.
Logitech has always made good products. Logitech uses their own switches in their boards (Romer G in older boards and GX switches in their new boards that use an MX Cherry style stem). Their new G Pro series board (https://www.logitechg.com/en-ca/prod...-keyboard.html) uses the GX switches, their other boards will use their Romer G switches. Alot of keyboard enthusiasts will say the Romer G's are awful switches but my G810 had them and I didn't mind them too much. The G512 is a solid board as well and is a good budget mechanical board (G512 https://www.logitechg.com/en-ca/prod...-keyboard.html)
If you're wanting a MX cherry switch then Corsair is the way to go. They look more "gamer" than other brands but like I said they use authentic MX cherry switches in a variety of models. (https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Catego...ucts_Keyboards)
Hyper X is also a good brand that uses a mix of their own proprietary switches, MX Cherry and Kailh switches. Their alloy series is pretty good and looks less "gamer" than a brand such as Corsair. (https://www.hyperxgaming.com/unitedstates/us/keyboards)
Those are three brands I'd recommend looking into. I can't recommend one single board because there are simply too many variables when it comes to boards. Prices, switch types, RGB or no RGB, TKL or full size, ABS vs PBT key caps, etc etc. I'd recommend looking up reviews on Youtube and especially ones that do typing sound tests. Switches like MX Blues, Reds and Browns will sound and feel vastly different than Kailh blues, browns, reds, etc.
Hope this helps, if you have another questions don't hesitate to ask!Last edited by SinisterAlex; 07-03-2020, 11:41 PM.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
I signed up for Xbox's Gamer Pass and have been basically switching between Far Cry 5, Forza Horizon 4, and XCOM - Enemy Unknown.
What racing games do you all enjoy? Horizon scratches a lot of itches, but I'm thinking I want something a bit more simulation based rather than the fantastic middle ground Horizon has carved between simulation and arcade. Horizon is giving me NFS: Underground vibes which is always nice.
How is Project Cars 2 or the DiRT/DiRT Rally series?

F1 2019 is awesome. I wasn't even an indy car fan but bought it on a whim and it's great.

Thanks for the info. I have another question. I recently built my PC and went with an AMD 5700xt card but I’m going to return it after having a few crashes. After looking into it AMD seems to have issues with their drivers. I’m leaning towards a 2070super, but wondering if I should just spend a little more and get a 2080 super?
