Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread

Unfortunately, the below item# 13-121-640 MB INTEL|BOXDZ77GAL-70K Z77 LGA 1155 was physically damaged and beyond the applicable Newegg.com warranty coverage as indicated in our Standard Warranty Policy.

Motherboard was received with apparent end-user caused physical damage to the CPU socket contact pins that are bent beyond repair which was possibly caused due to improper installation and/or customer neglect. Items received with physical damage cannot be processed by Newegg and voids our return policy. End-user would need to contact the product manufacture for direct support.

For further assistance, we recommend contacting the manufacturer directly to see if they can offer repair or replacement of the item(s) under manufacturer warranty. Please use the following link to find the contact info for any manufacturer whose items we carry: Contact Manufacturer.

We greatly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and thank you for your patience and understanding. The item(s) are currently being shipped back to you and should arrive in approximately 5 - 10 business days.

If you have any questions, please visit our Contact Us Page.

    Sincerely,

    Your Newegg.com Customer Service Team
All I got to say is **** newegg. This really pissed me the **** off, what about the whole no damn metal piece to hold it into the socket? Im furious right now and in the pics I took did you see any damaged pins because I sure as hell didnt.

I think I am going to pick up the hyper 212 myself, I idle at around 40C using an H60. Maybe I've got a bad one but during load tests it doesn't seem to be able handle a slight voltage increase when I overclock my 8350.
Haven't checked the numbers on my new PC (also haven't placed my side covers on), but I'm rolling with the Hyper 212 EVO as well.

For those who might be interested in running a wireless 360 controller for their PC gaming I present this cheap adapter:

Holy ****. You actually got that back from newegg? I heard about that junk, but had never "known" anyone who went through it. That's absolute crap man. I'd call them, speak to a supervisor, and tell them what the deal is.

        Sorry to hear that Candyman5.

off topic, just ran 3Dmark11 and my M17xR4 scores 7251 Just a mild overclock.

Yeah I am furious. I called Newegg 3 times and got the whole user error BS then called Intel and they said about me paying to ship it to them and paying to repair it which I would be better off just getting a newer one. Im not entirely sure what I am going to do. I may just wait until after Myrtle and then get a new one.

This is the one I purchased: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813121640

If anyone can find a same socket one thats cheaper I would appreciate it.

I saw this thread after you were talking about how long newegg RMAs take, got a bad feeling, crossed my fingers for you, and bookmarked the thread. Good thing is you have pictures showing undamaged pins and a missing CPU top plate. There are posts of how they got remediation.

You could also call Intel, maybe they would be willing to cross ship you a new board since it was their **** up and Newegg is trying to screw you. Just call, tell them your story, how Newegg denied your claim falsely and is slowly shipping back your board, and how you are anxious to finish building your new PC and maybe they will.

I called Newegg 3 times. First time I was on the phone with 3 different reps, 2nd and 3rd time I only had 1 rep but they would not budge on the whole "customer responsibility" thing.

Called Intel and they said they could check into it however it would cost me shipping and handling and that it would cost me money to repair it if they deemed it customers fault. Just in a ****ty situation right now.

Im going to wait until I get my Board back from Newegg and then go ahead and pay to send it to Intel on some chance that they give me a replacement. If they say that I have to pay for a repair then I am going to decline and just get a new one since im all ready basically paying that much for the repair anyway.

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread

Looking back at your pics, I do see what could be a misaligned pin, but without a top plate or protective cap that's hardly your fault.

Looking around, unfortunately it seems that Intel doesn't care about retail customers too much, they focus their customer service on business customers. Can't believe Intel was so dismissive after shipping a motherboard without a top plate.

I would go back at Newegg, go online, post a review on Newegg complaining about both the missing top plate and Newegg trying to screw you, post at resellerratings, submit a claim with the BBB. I wouldn't pay another dime to Newegg. Post enough complaints, and Newegg will submit and make it right.

What payment method did you use to order? Check with the credit card, they may offer some dispute resolution/warranty/something. If you ordered via Paypal, file a complaint. I would hold off on the credit card/paypal until after giving Newegg a chance to resolve since Newegg will probably refuse to do any more business with you.

This and a few other things are totaling up to $1,171.00 before adding the shipping and handling. This is without a monitor because I figured I'd use my TV for gaming and my current monitor which is some Dell1908FP for internet surfing and everything else lol
I have the same CPU as that one, but with an Asus board and a 2GB version of the ATI 7770 instead that 7970.

for gaming, it'll be great. I haven't played many games on the system yet, but Skyrim(plus a bunch of mods, including higher resolution textures), BF3, and ME3 all can run at highest setting with no problems(and the 7970 would be even better at gaming than my 7770). I don't don't think you'll have a problem with graphic settings, though things can change fast with PCs. For what it's worth, I'm using Windows 8.

my PC spec for anyone that cares

I noticed that your power supply is 1200W is that better to have in my situation? Cuz I was just going by what iBuyPower said so that's the reason I chose the 750W one.

no, 1200W is overkill for what I currently have really. 750W should be good enough.

I got the 1200W back in 2007 with an older PC build and just got it in case I was going to get multiple graphic cards, which I ended up never doing. I basically only got it because it was on sale(it cost about the same as a 800W at that time) and it's a modular power supply.

Only reason I could see getting a bigger power supply would be if you plan to have multiple graphic cards. from what I can find online, 750W power supply should be able to handle 2 ATI HD 7970s.

I have a newegg preferred card that I put the purchase on since there's no interest for a year.

It sucks because the consumer is at a major disadvantage in these situations. I know I have posted a review or 2 even though they hasn't showed up yet as far as I can tell.

Oh okay cool and when what benefit would having 2 graphic cards do me? Also this build I'm looking at is from ibuypower so I wanted to ask did you build yours yourself?

Cuz I was just talking a friend of mine and he was telling me about a guy who just built him a 2000$ gaming PC. So, if I get some live help from this guy I will definitely think about going the custom built route.
