Personally, I find Farrell's movies generally inane (his role in Elf is the large exception in my mind). I like him in small doses generally, which is why he worked so well on SNL.
If he went to the movie and didn't like it, I get it. But I don't understand coming in to a thread about a movie he is already biased negatively to, with an actor he admittedly doesn't like, and saying how terrible it looks.

I'm going to see it tonight...hopefully. My buddy who saw the midnight release said it was fantastic.

It's a discussion thread/forum. Now if someone repeatedly makes the point within the same thread, I could see that being out of bounds, but if someone says "I don't like __________ and this trailer (which is all we have to go on at the time) doesn't make me want to change my mind", what's the harm?

For example, I can't stand Matthew Modine as an actor. Other than Full Metal Jacket (where the writing of the character probably saved him..... sorry, Anthony Michael Hall), I think it's a waste of celluloid for him to be on the big screen. So if a new MM movie came out and a trailer was posted, why couldn't I go into the thread, watch the trailer, and if it didn't change my mind about him from what I've seen, comment on it?

Basically, what you're saying is that since you're admittedly not a fanboy of Ferrell, you have no business commenting in here with the other fanboys.

Same here. Elf, Stranger Than Fiction, and his cameo in Wedding Crashers are my three favorite things he's done. I honestly am not into that sort of comedy otherwise.

He stated that he didn't like the lead actor in the movie of the thread. He has seen a few trailers, and still doesn't like it. It adds nothing to the thread whatsoever.

It's the same as people trolling in a Madden forum that dont like or pkay Madden after seeing gameplay videos.

watched it on wed night. i didnt find it better than the first. the movie seemed too-improvised. it got ridiculous in some scenes but thats what i kinda enjoyed about the movie. it seemed like everyone was having a blast making it

My thoughts exactly. I was cracking up the entire time. Can't wait to own this when it comes out on bluray.

It was alright, but I don't think it touched the first one. Got waaaay too stupid in some parts for my liking, but it was still hilarious.

Saw it last week and I'm still wanting my money back. I've always had a love/hate relationship with Will Ferrell's style of comedy. Either he's really funny (Wedding Crashers, Ricky Bobby) or not funny at all b/c of constant ad libbing (Step Brothers, Anchorman 2).

I liked the first Anchorman, but this one just didn't jibe with me. Way too many celebrity cameos, and the movie seemed way too long.
