I feel the reason Gus slit victor's throat was to show Walt and Jesse how ruthless he can be.

At the time Gus couldn't kill Walt as he was his only cook and he couldn't kill Jesse otherwise Walt wouldn't cook.

He killed his own guy to show that no matter how valuable you can be to the operation Gus will kill you to show who's boss.

As loyal as Victor was, he was the low man on the totem pole.

And the nanny cam dude I feel will become part of the operation.. he stepped out of line talking to Walt and Jesse, but he proved that he can be helpful when needed.

Mike isn't overstepping bounds. The partners are (in Walt's mind).

I think what we witnessed was Walt telling Jesse that he might go Gus on Mike's partners. If you kill them then you don't have to pay them.
I just re-watched the final scene, and here is why I believe Walt was hinting towards killing Mike.

To begin, it is directly after they are sorting the money and who gets what share, and Mike and Walt have the disagreement over paying old workers from the Gus days. So already Walt is very unhappy about Mike.

Walt asks Jesse how he feels about the money, then Walt says he has been thinking about Victor and how Gus may have not only been sending a message. Jesse asked what he meant, and Walts exact words were "Victor trying to cook that batch on his own, taking liberties that weren't his to take. Maybe he flew too close the the sun, got his throat cut." Then Walt walks away.

It is the part about taking liberties that leads me to really think he is going to kill(or try to kill) Mike. Because this conversation was seconds after Mike took money, or "liberties", that Walt obviously did not feel were his to take.

But who really knows, these writers can throw anything at you, Walt could really be hinting at anybody.

But didn't he want mike to hop onboard to help him move the product in the first place, to take care of the business end? I'm not one to be a critical thinker so I'm probably like 5 steps behind.

This turn seems really like a stretch to me. I remember last season starting to worry about the show taking a bad turn as well. Then things started to gel.

          Stupid me.

Maybe Walt is actually implying that he wants to kill the men on the list that knows the operation. Same as the nervous chick in the restaurant.

The only reason they have to get paid is to keep their mouth shut and not rat on Mike. Walt needs Mike to do the business end so he cant kill him. But if he kills those other guys that Mike is trying to pay off from Gus' business, they no longer have to keep paying them and can keep all the profits.

I wish I thought of that.

Well I'm willing to bet two or all three men end up dead before the show ends next year. I knew as soon as Walt/Mike had the argument that it was a doomed situation. I think Mike will end up dead this season though for sure. I think if anyone kills Walt it will be his wife or brother in law.

My money is on Skyler killing Walt. It's perfect because he's so ultra-aware of all the situation around him in regards to the drug world and whatnot but the biggest threat will be one he'll never see coming.

I've always thought it would be Jesse that causes Walt's demise if he ever does get offed.

Same goes for the other way around as well.

I just can't see Skyler killing anyone. Look at how she took he news of Beneke.. she was bed ridden and had a mental breakdown.

My thoughts are that at some point Walt will force Jesse to kill Hank while Jesse forces Walt to kill Mike. Its both their arch nemesis.

Walt and Jesse have saved each other once by killing someone. Jesse killed Gale and Walt killed the guy holding Jesse captive at the lab. It would only make sense that the next 2 that are killed would be a good friend (Mike) and a brother in law (Hank)

I feel that both Walt and Jesse will survive the series.

I see them surviving as well.

I took the Tony Montana scenario not as foreshadowing but instead whatever the opposite of foreshadowing is.

When Walt says "everyone dies in this," my assumption is the writers are telling us they won't take that route.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a circle of life ending. Gus was a top dog and Walt rose to kill him and take his spot. So an ending that tells us that's cyclical in the game (because it is) would make more sense to me.

Not saying Walt dies but maybe we see him face the challenges Gus faced. And that's his new life: surviving at the top.

Do we really need an open and shut ending? Real life goes on.

Didn't think of this, but yeah that is probably who he was referring to, not Mike.
