If this was an Apple announcement, many people would be whipping out their wallets for orders right now. Let the hype smoothly transition into a purchase. MS even did this with the Xbox 360 Slim. Showing off the product without a price or release date is lame.

They have an interesting tablet, and the keyboard cover seems like one of those obviously great ideas that I'm shocked wasn't done before.

Looks very nice, but I bet the pricing is too expensive for me.

Definitely looks slick. Unfortunately its a MS tablet, which means its probably running a Windows-esque operating system and IE, correct? That, for me, is a no buy. Looks like a great product for MS fans though for sure.

          It runs Windows 8.

Surface Pro looks like an incredible device for just about any situation. I think that one will be very expensive though.

I expect the RT one to be comparable in price to the iPad.

They both run Windows 8, and one would assume Firefox/Chrome/Opera/etc will all be ported to ARM for the RT.

I won't have a Windows 8 PC until I can ditch Metro entirely and get back to a 100% desktop interface. I get the feeling they will also be way more than I would pay for them anyway (signifigantly more than a similar spec laptop/ultrabook).

I'm betting Smartglass hits on this before other tablets in order to try and sell a few more of these.......

                So what if it does?

MS putting their own application on their own technology first... what a bunch of bastards!

Seeing a lot more interest than I would have expected for this. Wonder how much that will cool when pricing time finally rolls around.

The hardware is slick on the surface () and was only hyped up by Microsoft, by this morning some people were already starting to naysay the lack of certain specific details (price, ram, CPU speeds, battery life, etc) as giant flaws. That chatter is only going to get worse until they let those details out.

I would hope, for MS's sake, that this puts up a better fight against Apple than the Zune did.

Of course they will have their own applications on Windows before iOS and Android.

Recent example including the Xbox Live and Xbox Companion features for iOS and Android have been on Windows Phone for quite some time.

Saw some impressions from a media guy who had a few minutes with it during the conference and he said it was laggy and the response time was not that great yet. Hopefully something they can fix, because the iPad runs like butter.

LOL, I remember Zune......3 or 4 years ago I remember that was the must have christmas item for teens. At least for teens up here where I live anyway.

I strictly use Zune on my 360 for watching movies.

Hmm, I wouldn't worry about it. I've been using the Windows 8 RP build as my main OS for the past couple of weeks and everything is very fast and very smooth.
