When I went to see the first one, I was a junior in high school and hadn't seen any of the trailers or anything. My friends told me that the movie was just a couple that had set up a cmera on a tripod and that it was all real.

We then went back to my friend's house to sleep over afterwards, but I drove separately. I got there before everyone else, and his family was sleeping so the lights were all off and I didn't want to turn the lights on and wake them up. I sat in the middle of the floor in pitch black darkness for about a half hour or so before any of my friends got there. I don't think I've ever been more scared in my life. I thought they were playing some sort of sick, twisted joke on me.

Very long PA related scare story.

When the first one came out me and my friends went and saw it during the day. We were all pretty freaked out. Me and one buddy were in my car going back to our friends apartment who was driving his own. We got the idea to try and scare him later that night because we had keys to his apartment. The setup ended up being great. His car broke down at work and our other buddy had to go pick up him. So we had an accomplice driving him home. We go to his apartment before he gets home(we set up a camera, but the film ran out -_-) and we hid in one of the back bedrooms. his AC sucked, and whenever you turned on the fan it sounded like an industrial fan starting up and was really loud. He never kept the air on because it didn't work very well. We hide back in a room/closet and we they get there we turn that fan on and off. We hear the friend say that he knows he left the air off, and he came back and checked it. He even mentioned the door being open of the room we were in because it's empty and its always closed, but he didn't shut it. We did it a couple more times and we could hear it in his voice he was getting legitimately freaked out. This is over a 30 minute span. Finally once we get bored of waiting we having a hanger and we notice the closet door in the room across the hall is open. We didn't think it would be that loud, but somehow this hanger hitting the door is like a carwreck. We can hear our friend just flipping ****. He walks back again, our other friend lucky takes a knife away from him. He check the other door, then turns around and we jumped out at him. It was the first time I saw true fear in someone's eyes.

Is PA3 on netflix stream?

I liked the first 2 for sure. The third wasn't bad at all. I have a feeling this one will be good/creepy just like the first 3 but I didn't really care for this trailer. Didn't really catch my attention as much as the other ones.

See I'm the opposite. For some reason if a movie wants to scare me just add a creepy little kid and I'm done.

I really liked the first three and imagine the fourth as long as it sticks to what makes these movies unique it will be good.

Just saw it tonight.

For now, I'm just actually going to go ahead and say "don't bother," if you're concerned about saving $10. I wouldn't say it failed, but I'll just say it didn't even really try. Yeah, there's a new story element added to the existing story, and the "webcam" novelty was another good touch, but that's pretty much where the line is drawn. It wasn't even scary... but again, it's like they didn't even try.

Probably another sequel next year, but I bet they just lost a lot of people, so here's a good word of advice: wrap it up at five, and don't look back. Another film might even be worse than this one, but at least they have a chance to "try" one more time.

I liked one or two scenes, but I think it will be a unanimous vote on this one being the worst of the four, even though this probably had the most appreciable main character.

EDIT: Oh, and just watched both trailers from this thread. Trailer #1, fortunately, shows "deleted/alternate scene" stuff, so I think you can watch that without worry. Trailer #2, however, shows a lot of the film... so if you're going to see it and see a trailer, only watch #1, not #2.

Wow. And I thought it was incredible. But to each their own. Saw it with a packed theater and was easily the best experience, no idiots trying to be funny the entire time. There's a ton of unanswered questions though which opens up all new stories. Great flick, great franchise. Best one in horror in ages, if not ever.

Damn it, there was a scene after the credits. I considered staying as I first saw the credits roll, but then I thought: "Of all movies, this would be one that wouldn't ever have an after-credits scene."

Don't worry about not seeing the after-credit scene. It's a teaser for a Spanish spin-off that comes out next year. It's not a sequel, but is considered a "cousin" film that is unrelated to the series' story.

Also, I saw it last night and thought it was very good. It's not the best of the series (that's #1), but it does have its moments for sure. My expectations were pretty low going in because the trailers didn't look great, but it kept me entertained. The ending is the most intense (and puzzling, save for maybe #3's) of the series.

Questions regarding the ending of the last 2 movies:

I gotta assume at some point we're going to learn what the hell is really going on right? All I've pieced together is:
1. There's a ghost named Tobey that messes with all these characters.
2. Katie Featherstone is routinely possessed.
3. It seems like some sort of cult where all these women are married to Tobey and basically become possessed by him whenever he sees fit?
4. I still don't really understand the role that Hunter plays. I get that in the 2nd one, we figured out that it's supposedly the grandma that sold the soul of the first born male to Tobey, but why is Tobey still doing all this stuff if they got Hunter after the 2nd movie?
5. Was Robbie the original Hunter, or was Wyatt/Hunter the original Hunter? And if Wyatt was the real Hunter, where the hell did Robbie come from and how did he become involved in this cult-like thing?

Overall, there's so many things I'm left wondering, and I wonder if this movie will ever really answer all of these questions or not. Regardless, I really enjoy them.

I won't really go numerically here, but I'll just explain a little bit about what I think regarding this film/series, and it might help answer some of your questions.

Let's start with the boy next door, Robbie. Everyone immediately thinks that he is Hunter. He is actually a demon, but he not Toby. He is a demon that has done the same thing as Toby, only that his ritual has been completed. He took over the Robbie's body. Proof of that? How about the little boy opening his backpack and saying: "Be careful, this is over 100 years old," "This fork, you can see the future," etc. Basically, Hunter will be just like Robbie when his ritual is done.

People have asked why Hunter would be put up for adoption, how Katie bought a house, why it has taken over 5 years, etc. Everything involved with the rituals, the witches, and the covens has to do with money and wealth. I am pretty sure that the house was purchased by the witches. As for the adoption, my guess would be that the boy needed to age a few years in a normal environment. Then the three steps of the ritual needed to be put into effect. Katie lived right across the street so that she knew exactly where Hunter was at all times.

As for the ending? Well, it was the final step in the ritual. As cheesy as it sounds, the virgin had to spill blood. Katie (Toby) killed Alex, and Hunter is now Toby.

That's my opinion, but it seems this is the case. There is something much larger than what is going on in Southern California and Nevada. There are demons all around us, I guess. I think that's what the Mexican spin-off film(s) will help demonstrate. Like, it won't tie into this film, but you can't help but pretend they still belong to the same "world."
