Billie Joe Armstrong flips out on stage

at the I Heart Radio Festival after he thinks Green Day's set is cut short to leave more time for Rihanna and Usher.

And now he's checking into rehab:

I'm sure him breaking his own guitar on stage really made them sad.

Funny Green Day/Billie Joe story, I worked security at one of his concerts and before it starts we get this 20 minute spiel from his head of security about how we have to be vigilant because there tends to be young kids at his shows and we need to watch out for them and make sure they don't see anything inappropriate and whatever, then I think it was between the local opener and the touring opening act, Billie Joe comes out on stage in a rabbit costume mock masturbating then tries to get chicks to show him their tits.

Remember when he won those championships with the Chicago Bulls in the early 90s?

Nothing is as lame as scripted rage from a band.

Any "punk" rock band that plays on the same bill as Usher are just corporate whores anyway.

I love a few of their albums, but this was just lame. Insulting Justin beiber didn't come off as "cool", but incredibly lame considering they were playing on a clear channel hosted event. That just isn't very punk, is it?

I'm a fan, it was just lame and hopefully, not prep landed because of their new album. That makes it lame and sad.

How long was Green Day considered a punk band anyway?

They are so fake. They bash the very corporate conglomerates they sign on to themselves.

Listen Green Day, do not try and garner votes when the very demographic you bashed (Beiber) is what listens and purchases your "music".

When I walk into Wal-Mart and you are the ONLY "rock band" in the poster section ALONG with Beiber, Eminem, Britney Spears, and Hannah Montana...

Yeah, you are one in the same. And I can't care less for Beiber or anything "pop", but you not "punk rock", but "punk pop".

Nimrod was the first album they weren't considered one in my book.
When did that come out? Late 90s?

They were punk when starting out before they sign with a major record label. I watched them a lot in Berkely punk clubs. They still are not welcome back there. That scene was hardcore. Billie couldn't walk away from that money being thow at him, so they sold out! lol I would too though.

You can sign a major record label without selling out your style or genre of music. Just sayin'. And if you can't, don't start jawin'.

That is my beef. He wants to run his mouth about Beiber, yet sold out to bubble gum punk pop just a well.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, no way you say Bad Religion sold out for signing with Atlantic for a year(2000). Nimrod was when they really changed their style.

Bad Regilion sold out! If you are truly punk you don't sign with a major label. At least that is how it is in Berkely Califonia. Rachid would have been world wide like Greenday, but they never went to a big Label, unless they have now? I am out of those scenes now.
