I really loved the first episode.

Fox has a good formula, bring in good movie actors and make great tv shows around them.

      Good for them!

Fox considered DVR play so important for new midseason drama The Following, it ran “Set Your DVR!’ ads for the show as part of the launch campaign, the first time anyone had done that. Many viewers did put the Kevin Bacon serial killer drama on their DVRs, and in Live +3, The Following’s Monday premiere rose to a 4.3/10 among adults 18-49, up +34% from its L+SD rating (3.2). The Following remains the second-highest rated drama debut of the season behind NBC’s Revolution (5.4/15 in Live+3, 33% gain vs. L+SD), just ahead of CBS’ Elementary (4.2/12). It also edged Fox’s cancelled 2011-12 dramas Terra Nova (4.1 in the L+3) and Alcatraz (4.0).

This was a great pilot and despite FOX burning me in the past they seem committed to this one.

And Natalie Zea aka easy in the eyes was a surprise. I only watched one promo so I didn't know this is where she went after disappearing from Justified.

I bought Taken 2 a couple of days ago and there was a little card enclosed promoting The Following on Fox. I don't buy many dvd's so I'm not sure how common this is for a tv show to be promoted with dvd's/blu-rays. Just thought it was interesting.

It's pretty common now. Especially for stuidos that produce movies and television.

First two episodes have been great. Fox has given me a new show to drool over.

              Can you trust anyone?

If this FBI lady ends up being a mole/part of the following I'm not watching. They couldn't make it more obvious within 10 minutes of her being introduced.

Otherwise, the 2nd episode was good. I hope that's not the direction they go because its so predictable.

                  My feelings as well.

I just hope they dont just throw in crazy far fetched twist after twist in every episode.

She claims to have a vast knowledge cults and the works of Poe. I'm guessing she is trying to get close to him to gain his trust to obtain information.

Then again, that was a pretty thick Poe book she handed him, maybe there's something inside for him to use to escape with?

I'm enjoying the ride right now but I do fear next moves.

It kinda feels a bit like Prison Break, or I worry it might be.

Can those people run forever? Probably not. Not for seasons upon seasons. So what's next?

Precisely my fear, though I didn't watch Prison Break. Would be good for one season, two might be pushing it, beyond that is no good.

I get what creators do now. They have almost no choice. They write up a concept that's a one season ride. You hook people in and then you push further.

A multi-season angle can work if the killer can operate behind bars and the cult becomes monstrous.

I can see this show going from catching the kidnappers of a son to Bacon and the FBI stopping a global operation.

But we will see. It's damn good right now and I'm gonna enjoy it.

I'm almost with you on that, but I don't know if the FBI lady as a mole/part of the following would be a deal breaker for me. The problem that might make it a deal breaker is that I like the character, but not as a glossy eyed follower, but as a tough FBI agent who might want to sizzle with some Bacon.

The scene w/ the Poe masks where Bacon is then beat over the head was plain dumb.

I re-watched the scene, the guy is not there when Bacon enters the room and is looking at the masks. Then when Bacon's character picks up his book you can see a boot on the ground in the mirror.

Where did the guy appear from? The closet? Bacon's character would not have heard an old closet door creaking open or saw the figure in the mirrors reflection?

That scene was bush league IMO.

I don't know, we are only seeing one part of the room when Bacon is looking at the mask. The Poe mask guy could have came from a room nearby. Bacon was the only one in the house at the time.

I thought the cop that was killed looked like he was part of the cult or following until the red head shows up out of the clear blue.

I need to tee that scene up again. If Bacon was looking at the book, why would he look in the mirror?

I like the suspense factor when you don't see it coming.
