Gotta admit, I didn't see that coming. I smacked myself for being so gullible but I just didn't see it coming.

This show is definitely riding on the "anyone can be a follower" mantra.

I wonder how long two things can happen:

1. How long can the son keep going asking to speak to his mom before he gets restless. It's bordering on that area where kid is gonna start crying or running away to find his mom.

Actually, I might wager this is how they find them. Kid is gonna run away, go missing, end up cameras somewhere and tracked by the FBI.

2. What does the show do after last night's episode in terms of shock value. For those as gullible as me, we couldn't possibly be that gullible again right? I'm gonna watch every person closely and assume they are in it.

So doesn't that kinda kill any suspense now if we know this? Perhaps the next move is using that knowledge and flipping it on us by having a person die or be held under arrest that actually isn't part of the cult.

I think they are setting it up to falsely accuse the cult specialist, they seem to be a little too overt with the hints.

I kind of got the feeling that the wife was in on it when she was in the room at the FBI and they left her alone and seemed to purposefully pan across the logged in computer screen, I thought she was going to do something with the computer then.

The scene with Ashmore and the black FBI agent was weird to me, we didn't see what happened and his reaction when we returned seemed a bit reminiscent of what we've seen from other followers after their first kill, kind of a bewildered awe. But that might just be paranoid over analyzing.

Listen, for me, I think the way that scene was shot is on purpose because I'll keep harping on Mike being a follower. I wouldn't be surprised if he made sure Agent Reilly died (damn that name was hard to research on IMBD without knowing who is credited with said amount of episodes).

And despite my guesses, I think they've done well to throw us off Mike's scent. Same with the wife, as I'm getting closer to agreeing with those that think she's in on it.

I do agree with you that they really want us to think the cult specialist, Debra, is in on it, and they are making it obvious for viewers that pay attention, but it's a red herring of sorts.

The first time they showed the stabbing, I knew she was in on it.

I don't think they need to show anyone in the FBI being in on it this season. They can focus on this group of people and their story.

Now if someone is in on it, I think it is the younger guy who read his book. He was asking personal questions, wanting to get to know him and form a relationship.

I was a huge fan of 24,(didn't watch Prison Break) and the first season, I didn't know Nina Myers was a villain/mole until near the end of the first season.

24 had moles in every season, so, I'm not sure if this show wants to differentiate from 24 or not.

The formula is similar: hire a movie actor for a suspenseful tv drama. Maybe it ends there.

They have been filming quite often on the property next to where I work. They actually rent out a portion of our parking lot to set up all the trailers. We see Kevin Bacon every once in a while coming out of his dressing room trailer to be taken to the set.

Watched episode 3 last night, I have a bad feeling their trying to attempt to make us believe "Iceman" might be a follower which in it's own right is genius. If he ends up being a follower than many of us saw it coming. Yet on that same token, if he ends up not being a follower it was still a good throw off.

Now I'm itching to see why the 3 members at the house are so shady towards each other. Did those two guys end up truly becoming ga? Is that why he kidnapped that chick, to prove to himself he was still straight?

Another good episode last night and more flashbacks.

We heard the tragic lives of Ryan and sister, Jenny.

And we saw "Iceman" save Ryan and Jenny.

Weird ending with the three followers having a group hug in the shower.

Watched this past episode with the girl and she brought up an interesting point that I would have clearly missed.

Using the flashbacks, we know that Claire (Carroll's ex-wife) met Jenny.

We also know that Mike Weston (Ice Man) is aware that there is a Jenny. He knows who she is and frankly knew way too much information about her.

You would think that would be because they work together, however, Ryan Hardy's (Kevin Bacon) boss Debra Parker did not know who Jenny was.

So if we are to make the assumption that Ryan kept his sister mostly secret to people that should have his profile, how is it that one of Carroll's disciples knows about Jenny?

Unless, as the girl pointed out, Claire told Carroll about her.

I think I'm jumping on the Claire is part of it wagon.

edit: To be clear, I think Mike Weston and Claire are part of it.

Another thing I commented on while watching is that Mike is always where ever Ryan goes. Now, he routinely says: "I could lose my job for this," and yet, there he is alongside Ryan making sure he has his back.

I think Mike is there to feed Carroll information.

They are writing a book right? And how can you write about a protagonist without a narrator knowing what the protag is up to. Mike, in my opinion, is playing third person narrator in the book. He follows Ryan around so Carroll knows what Ryan's doing during this entire ordeal.

I know a question would be: Why did Ryan kill the female follower then? I don't think Carroll or Ryan, for that matter, care about the small pawns. They are there to move the story along. Ryan is there to make sure everything gets carried out. Remember also that the female was trying to kill Carroll which is NOT part of the story. So Ryan had to self-correct and eliminate the problem. It doesn't absolve him.
