Great episode! My money is on Weston being "Roderick".

"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: The Following - TV Series
The only thing that is bugging me a bit with this series is the incompetence of the FBI/police.
The FBI lose Carroll's ex-wife.
Back-up take forever to assist Hardy.
Only 1 cop comes to the farmhouse with Ryan and is too afraid to shoot his gun.
The elderly couple who got murdered were on the phone to police when Paul broke into their home. When Ryan & the cop found them both dead later on it showed the phone was off the hook, thus the police would have heard everything. Where is all the back-up?
It appears to me as if they are heading towards Joey being rescued but now his mother is the one being captured.Comment

That's television. Only one smart, capable officer allowed per force.

I really didn't want the cop to die, that part sucked because he was so scared to begin with.
So who thinks Jacob is either going to kill someone or snitch and give his accomplices up so he can be free?
I feel like the girl tied up, megan, is going to get killed in her escape or something. I really want her to make it through this - but the way this show goes, it doesn't seem like anything good seems to happen - other than Hardy still being alive.Comment

The concept of "the following" was intriguing to me, and Bacon's acting has been great... but having to digest the dawson's creek serial killer crew, not to mention the scene w/ the Poe masks on the wall in ep3, and the inevitable boggle by law enforcement every episode - that the show is just too predictable and too 'clean' for trying to be a gritty serial killer thriller.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: The Following - TV Series
For a 1st year show, I feel it's doing fine.
24 had all that kind of stuff, the moles in the government/White House, the moles inside CTU, the unexpected twist and turns,(killing of Terri Bauer 1st season last show) the tough guy Jack Bauer will do everything to get the answer his way, the every woman Jack dates something terrible happens to them, etc.......
As long as the show is suspenseful and I watch as it is, no problems on this end.Comment

Re: The Following - TV Series
This show.....I don't know what to think of it now. I finally watched the latest episodes and I have to say i'm quite shocked at how the impossible happens every episode.
How is it possible this dude has leagues and leagues of people under his control. The show is starting to flirt to much with the possibility of anyone and everyone being in on this. It almost makes it unbearable to know that if anything were to go right for the good guys, the writers can just flip a switch and have someone be part of the cult.
Another thing that caught my fancy. The kid from X-Men......he was shot in his vest.....I still feel like he might be the second in command here. The lady cop who shot him must of know he was wearing a bullet proof vest....if she wanted to kill him, she should of shot him in the head. Was that shooting a poly?
Anyhoo, i have to admit, these last two episodes have been really good thoughComment

Re: The Following - TV Series
It really is no different then every action movie ever where the main bad guy has a million minions under his control for no apparent reason. When watching shows/movies like this you just have to accept it. Really liking the show.Comment

I stopped watchin after ep3 and may at some point finish up. I like to come in here and read the comments to see if there was anything from the latest episode that WASN'T just the typical cliche/run of the mill plot climax and it seems like its just been the same bumbling idiot cops and decoying since eps 2 and 3.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment
