The scientific fast zombie theory has always had a flaw, in my opinion...rabid animals don't tend to work in packs. The swarm dynamics in these films closer resembles insect or hive behavior. Mammals just don't have the bio systems for that sort of group communication.

Pretty sure nobody was confused and thought it was a documentary...but thanks for stopping by and making sure we all kept it "real".Comment

Re: World War Z
Then why are you in thread about a zombie film then?
I expect the level of discourse on OS to exceed drive-by postings of a playground caliber. Are you buried in the Man of Steel thread saying " People can't fly " as well?
I can fully understand burn out of the zombie trend. That, in itself, would have been a better post but I think you lose my sympathy when any sane person burnt out on something AVOIDS it not seeks out a message board discussion about it.Comment

I'll probably wait until it hits the rental bin. Kind of tired of apocalyptic movies as well.
You make a good point, but I'm not reading any more of your responses.... you're dead to me.

Re: World War Z
Got out of this about an hour ago. I didn't read the book and my only knowledge of it going in was Brad Pitt was fighting some zombies, and it came from a book. Didn't think it was the worst zombie movie ever, but not the best I've seen. Probably would have enjoyed it more if it came out at the start of the zombie craze. Reminded me ofSpoiler'I am Legend'. By that I mean it's basically one guy who has to save the entire world.
It made me want to read the book.Comment

Re: World War Z
The book is great, but it literally has nothing to do with the movie. It's a completely different story (or stories, as the book is more of a collection of experiences about the Zombie War).Got out of this about an hour ago. That's what my friend who read the book said. He saidSpoilerthat there were only 5 things in common with the book, and one of those was the title.Comment

Re: World War Z
Went to see it today. I liked it. Intense... Yeah, a bit far-fetched. But I thought the movie was really cool. I also would like to see a sequel/prequel done to fill in all the storylines that weren't developed. I think it would work because they could really dive into the depth to "why" all this happened. But the movie was well paced, and had some edge-of-your-seat type of moments to it. I don't typically watch movies like this, but I'd recommend it.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

After fast an the furious 6, this was my favorite movie of the year. It was a great ride from beginning to the end.

Re: World War Z
I liked the movie a lot. I loved the book. People need to get past that it's got almost nothing in common with the book and I think they would enjoy it more.
Of course, I hope the first ending they shot ends up on the blu ray. Spoilers on that and the book here:
SpoilerIn the movie after the plane crashes is where the second ending takes place. In the movie Gerry goes to the WHO and injects himself with some virus to discover how we can camo ourselves from zombies. The film was originally going to end with Gerry going to Russia and leading a huge battle where they use lobos (from the book!) to kill massive zombie hordes. Doesn't that sound much better?Lux y VeritasComment
