So did Varys actually try to protect his asset Ros or what? He seemed a bit unnerved when Littlefinger was giving his creepy speech, but after he realized she was lost he just said "I did what I did for the realm."

This is a good(must) watch if you're interested in what makes these characters tick. Specifically Cersei, Jamie, and Tyrion. Part 1 was on Tywin and the overarching Lannister history (which is also on her channel).

Just thought I'd share this with you guys.

I don't know if I agree with that. I think a lot of the main (POV) characters can solidly be put into one category or the other on the good/bad scale, anyway. I believe characters like Jaime and Theon are some of the exceptions.

Why does it seem like Varys and Littlefinger are more major players than we're led to believe? It certainly doesn't dawn on most of the characters that those two have been playing this game for quite some time now, and probably better than them. Great speech by Littlefinger - definitely not the guy you'd want to rouse people into battle. More like scare your children.

The Lord of Light stuff is quite fascinating. On one hand, they seem like nothing more than a crazy cult. On the other, it seems like he/she/it will be their salvation.

Those complaining about Ros, they got their wish. Part of me thinks Joffrey got her so that Margaery will have "something" to kill - because she wanted to try hunting out and all.

After the frantic finishes of the past couple of episodes, this was quite peaceful and not so "OMG! Can't believe the episode just ended!" It also saddens me that we only have 4 more episodes left.

They are definitely major players. For those who have read the books...moving forward, both have some important roles to play.

Absolutely. The show had definitely expanded on their roles because of their later importance.

Am I the only one that thought the cut from Littlefingers monologue to Jon and Ygritte on the wall was excellent dichotomy?

More poigniant especially if you've read the books and know what's in store for Jon and Ygritte?

                  Excellent television right there.

Am I the only one who thought this was just a so so episode? Even with that Peter Dinklage is an amazing actor. I thought his "This is awkward" bit before he broke the news to Sansa and Shae was top notch.

You're not alone, felt like it could have been trimmed to 15 minutes and I wouldnt have missed much. Next week appears to make up for it.

Aside from Bran, Sam, and maybe Jon, I think pretty much every character does something that falls square into a grey area. But they all have pretty valid reasons for why they do what they do. Every character thinks they're the good guy, they're the hero of the story.

                          Pretty lame episode this week.

Music video starring Liam Cunningham (Davos). I'm always super impressed when an actor can tell that great of a story without ever saying a word.
