Looks...meh. I'm gonna hold out for more info before I start to think anything of it. I'm interested though.

Hell if Star Trek The Next Generation came out on tv right now in today's world of instant gratification, it would have been canceled 3 episodes in.

I'm not a fan of the trailer, I would of never known this was a star trek movie from the trailer.

I'm as big a fan of the cerebral, introspective, and humanist nature of the Star Trek Franchise as anyone can be, but I'm not letting the shift in tone toward the tastes of the 21 first century adolescent/young adult, damped my enjoyment of the new films.

I would also say that although they are marketing the action elements of the film quite heavily right now, my gut tells me that the core themes that make Star Trek, Star Trek will still have a strong presence in this movie.

Also, with Benedict Cumberbatch portraying the main villain he's not going to just be firing photon torpedoes at anything that moves.

I'm the biggest star trek fan at OS and I loved the first movie and look forward to this one. It's not the series, but trek has been on life support so I really do root for these and appreciate them for what they are. Now let's get a clone wars type show for the kids and a new series for the adults. I'm ready!

I'm not so sure a minute long trailer from the first installment would have led me to believe it would be as good as it was, so I won't judge harshly on this one. Was waiting for another so I'm happy to know it's coming.

Loved the first one, and LOVED this trailer. Primarily because...it gives away nothing. Everyone seems to be complaining that it seems to be all action/CGI with no plot. But how do we really know that there's no emphasis on the plot? Nobody even really talked in the trailer, and it's only a minute long. I hate trailers that give away the entire story. So yeah, I'm pumped for this.

Much better trailer but hrm, reading the IMDB plot synopsis this looks like a redux/mash up of Khan's story updated and slightly changed for 21st century terrorism sensibilities.

That one quick shot of Kirk and Spock doing the Vulcan greeting to each other is also VERY reminiscent of the end of Wrath of Khan as well.....

                        hmmmmm

I could be way off base but that's just initial thinking.

Not even gonna bother watching this trailer. They did a believable enough job with the first one (sans casting Winona Ryder as Spock's mother...what were they thinking). Karl Urban as Bones was spot on believable as his younger version. Simon Pegg can be replaced as far as I'm concerned, but I see that he is still there. Scotty should be played by someone more salty and experienced than Kirk.

I'll wait until it's out a couple of weeks and all of the annoying little kiddies have had their fill.
