The forthcoming sixth season of 'House of Cards' will be the show's last, although the decision to end the series is unrelated to recent sex assault allegations against Kevin Spacey

Yeah, I heard that earlier in a more speculative nature.

That sounds like PR spin to keep fans from going after Netflix for doing this. That being said, I happen to believe it as Netflix has been pretty solid in its customer relations.

As for Spacey, the guy has always rubbed me the wrong way in interviews so in some respects these allegations that have come out aren't too surprising.

Spacey is still one of my favorite actors, but I won't miss this show. Too much life imitating art right now.

I couldn't agree more. There is an arrogance/pomposity factor for sure. My understanding is that this has been an admission vs. allegations?

I think that's only technically murky because Spacy says he doesn't remember the incident.

I read the Anthony Rapp article on Buzzfeed. Normally i'd be a little skeptical but Buzzfeed did an amazing job of corroborating the story with MULTIPLE people over the years confirming that Rapp told them privately about this. This wasn't some big secret kept til now. In fact, Rapp even mentioned it in an article back in, I think 2002 though the author of said interview back then had redacted Spacey's name for some reason. Said author also confirmed Rapp was talking about Spacey.

I think Spacey pulling out the "I don't remember" card virtually cinches the fact that it happened. Apparently, according to Rapp Spacey was a bit drunk when it occurred so Spacey not remembering might be legit. At least due to this, Spacey has officially come out of the closet as he also stated that he's chosen to live as a gay man.

Netflix says it's suspending production on 'House of Cards'

I wonder if they'd scuttle it now, if not this seems unnecessary. If they planned to release it anyways they could finish it and hold onto it for a little bit before releasing.

Then again, Spacey's character might be going places this season that may only exacerbate things.

Meh... "due to this"? He came out a while back. I see that as a huge cop out. So what if he's a gay man. If there's supposed to be equal treatment, then ****ing around with a minor is ****ing around with a minor.

I believe he never said so publicly before this. I wasn't saying I condone it. Spacey is a creep for doing that. After I read the Buzzfeed article I was pretty disgusted.

Didn't say you were condoning it ... of course you wouldn't.

But it speaks again to this Hollyweird narcissistic trait/mentality that some have (naturally, as this is a good field for narcissists) of "my talent is far more important and therefore usurps and/or excuses my behavior." The Illuminati-type discussions around this area seem to carry more and more weight in my eyes because of it.

Apologies if I missed this in a news update, but who in the Hollywood community is condoning this?

Netflix did say a while back this would be the last season. They aren't just saying that. This was already confirmed. As for Spacey, he's a great actor but apparently a slimeball of a human being. Pretty ironic now all the times he's called out certain people regards to life imitating art when he has the morals of a snake.

For every Bill Oreilly and Harvey Weinstein there are probably five or six narcissists who aren't sexual predators.

I seriously wonder what Netflix is going to do as more men have come out accusing Spacey of improper behavior including Tony Montana who claimed that Spacey grabbed his entire package at a club in 2003. Apparently, Montana had PTSD for a month after said encounter.
