    Sherlock

I was surfing netflix this past Saturday afternoon because I was extremely bored and came upon this show. It's naturally on BBC I take it, and boy has it WOWWED me. There are only 3 episodes to a season and so far only 2 season.

Like the title of the show, it's about Sherlock Holmes in modern times solving crimes and battling his arch nemeses James Moriarty. I must say though, the cast is just phenomenal, I live in America, these actors are foreign to me, however they knocked it out the park. Sherlock himself is just entertaining to watch, and Watson is his anchor that grounds him back to this world when he ends up getting too wrapped up in himself. I can't overly emphasis how excellent the cast is again, i'm a shocker for a good "who done it," and i love the fact that his character can just walk in a room and immediately deduce several theories; his ability to look at someone as well and instantly tell you about them is just pure bliss.

I just ended season 2 and can't wait for season 3 which looks to be premiering this September, just sort of sucks that there's only 3 episode a season and there's only one true season a year.

On a related note, I've been watching another show called Elementary which premiered fall of last year, another show about Sherlock Holmes in modern times. This show is very different from the BBC Sherlock one, but still entertaining never the less. Since I've started this show before BBC's Sherlock, im attached to it, but BBS's Sherlock is definitely a superior show.

For anyone whose interested in a modern Sherlock Holmes show, these two shows are very good.

I really enjoy Elementary, thought it would be an ok show but its surprised me and is very good. Plus anything with Lucy Liu is a win

Yea, Elementary is awesome, two very good Sherlock Holmes shows, but Sherlock is on another level in term of a pure wow factor. From the way he thinks to his reactions to his ability to be an a-hole to people around him with no sense of remorse or feeling is just breathe taking.

If you can, definitely give it a watch, just took 1 episode to hook me and i was able to finish both seasons in 3 days

I might give it a look. In the last couple of months I've watched two very good UK shows, Downton Abbey and Doc Martin.

I am a HUGE Sherlock Holmes fan - I have probably over 300 books in my library and many dvds. I strongly suggest picking up seasons 1 and 2 of Sherlock. GREAT stuff!

^ Pretty much. I saw only one episode of the show and thought it was infinitely better than the RDJ films (even though I like and own them, I think they take away too much from the investigative portions of the character).

That's the one thing the RDJ Sherlock movies lack, his ability to be a detective and to just rip a scene apart with deduction.

I also don't like the way the 2nd movie handled Moriarty, he is in every way and shape, Sherlock's equal and I felt as if he was slightly undermined in the 2nd RDJ movie.

off topic, I watched the season finale of Elementary and I loved how they did Moriarty. It was unique and definitely surprising, don't like how they ended it, but it was a very cool concept

I'm from last year in the boring when the English version of the Holmes see again, unfortunately too few season two episodes, a total of only six sets, but the story is really very good, plus a wonderful interpretation of Benedict Cumberbatch, let us these detective fans how can don't like dynam e-razor 450 ?

I think Sherlock is superb, extraordinary really, but to me Elementary is even better, but opinions will differ of course.

My wife and I started watching this on Netflix Friday night and just loved it. It's really cool how they tie in Doyle's stories to this and modernize them.

Can't wait for Season 3. Cumberbatch is one hell of an actor and nails Holmes.

Cumberbatch is perfect in this role. The very first episode is one of my favorite episodes from any series.

                            Re: Sherlock

I have watch both show and like them both. The two show take two different views on the sherlock world.

Elementary stories are mostly about the characters and how they interact with each other and his own history and less on the visuals and forensic science, But when the series first started they did. As the season went along they do less of it.

Sherlock is completely opposite. The stories are less about interaction and more on sherlock and the way he see the world and using his knowledge to solve impossible crimes. they use visuals to point out what he is sees and think.

Both are great shows to watch. If I had seen Sherlock before watching Elementary. I'm not sure my opinion of it would be so high on Elementary.

In my opinion of the two shows are.
I think Sherlock is much better, from the stories to the case. Some of the cases hard to figure out who did it. Like car back fires and guy dies 200yds away in a field (I will not say who did it just in case someone hasn't seen it yet). A few of the episodes I had to watch twice to fully understand everything. Sherlock has one of the best writer of are times Steven Moffat. that being said Elementary stories are good and keep me coming back to watch more of. the down side to Sherlock it has 3 episodes a season.

I would recommend watching both. watch Elementary and get invested before watching Sherlock. If you don't and watch Sherlock first you may not like Elementary
Will thats just my my opinion take it or leave it
