I thought Walton Goggins was nothing short of remarkable in every scene he was in. This was a tough thing to pull off and he was flawless.

Gemma brought this all on herself.

      My thing is that

      A) This Tara thing sort of came out of left field, like she goes to jail to end last season and then now shes just out, wants to divorce Jax, and is just abandoning everything seemingly at all costs.

      B) Its like nobody would blame her for not wanting her kids to have Gemma as a big influence in their life. Love her or hate her, we all know Gemma has her demons, and most likely the kids would be better off having her as "grandma" who they see every now and again as opposed to their main authority figure. So with that said, and I know the jail thing make time short as far as a plan, but to fake a pregnancy and miscarriage, and bring in abels mom, and all that is just like out there. Its as if she doesnt acknowledge Jax exists. what has he done to warrant not having his kids?

Good points, but remember that Gemma threatened to lie about the Otto/crucifix thing to the sheriff, and that's what brought everything to a head for Tara.

Well, pretty much since the beginning of the show Tara's been wanting to run away from "that life" that Jax has been trying to convince her for 7 years that he's been trying to change the direction of the MC. Now **** is really hitting the fan so I don't really see her as wanting to get out and protect the kids as surprising.

I will say that Tara's "baby" plan was very, very heady and conniving. Its definitely in Gemma territory and the gotcha wasn't as satisfying as I would have liked.

Wish Jax would have killed the whole Molester crew.

Also, The way Tara and Jax have become Gemma and Clay is something. Although Jax is trying to do good its just not happending. You can start to see the way the final season is going to end.

I can see that argument. IDK its like he's Jax, he'll handle his business. I may be remembering, but I dont remember Jax doing something to make his wife essentially hate him, and want to put the kids into the hands of a recovering heroin addict you know? Like all of a sudden tara is just taking the kids and herself away from Jax, and going behind his back manipulating him in the worst way.

He hasn't exactly made any lasting steps to "clean up" the business of the MC and Gemma being the other major figure involved in the raising of the children (the other being Tara - Jax has maybe 5-10 minutes total screen time with kids?) I can see why Tara would want to get the kids far away from the club and its influences.

Now, Jax hasn't done anything intentional or directly related to harming his family, but his business actions definitely show otherwise.

I will say that Charlie Hunnam has come a LONG way as a lead actor in this series. I think Perlman and Segal really stole the series for the first 4 seasons (and I thought the actor who played Opie was considerably better too), but now its to the point where I think Hunnam derserves a Oustanding Male Lead nod. Obviously he won't win but it still shows how much better he is now.

wow Great episode. Many want to hate Tara , but it's in 98% of Mothers to protect their young at any cost. Jax almost got both of his children blown to bits and people still want him to have his kids in that environment? That's insane. Tara gave Jax his chance to leave the club and take their family away and he chose the club.

He's good, but not Bryan Cranston good....

I'd still take John Hamm, Damien Lewis, Peter Dinklage (if he can beat considered a Lead) and probably even Steve Beschemi over Hunnam. With that said, I do agree with you he has came a long way.

As far as the episode, it was pretty much 45 minutes of meh and then really picked up the last few minutes (mostly because of the Tara/Gemma stuff). Also we had TWO music montages in this episodes. The writers are decent, I'm not sure why they keep using the Glee route as a crutch.
