Meh. I'm so sick of the Barney/Robin/Ted triangle. Whats sad is that we know that this episode wasnt the end of it because weve seen the flashforward where Robin is getting cold feet on the day of the wedding.

It was cool though how they continued something from the pilot(Robin telling Ted he should've kissed her all those years ago)

And funniest part is Zoey being mentioned on the best and worst Ted GFs lists.

With the sunrise stuff, sounds like it's now in the final 10-12 hours before the actual wedding.

Not sure how I felt about that episode. And man, that ending shot was cheesy as hell.

Would have been better to have the voiceover say how he let Robin go that morning or something else besides that shot.

Yeah, Robin floating away was really a bad way to end the episode.

I did too...the first arc was just perfect.

She felt like less of a good person leaving her wedding like she did...I guess that soured me on her a bit.

Decent episode, but LMAO at that ending.

The thing that bothered me most is that Ted didn't really have to get into the whole explanation of still having feelings for Robin and yada-yada. When Robin asked why, he could have just said "she made me choose between you or her and I chose you because you're my best friend and nobody comes between me and my friends" or something.

Besides, if he now has "let her go" then why is he still moving to Chicago?

You can let her go and still want to start fresh in a new city. You can let someone go but still have feelings for her and not want to hang around and watch her and her husband go forward together.

Also this is all happening in real time. Its not like he had this conversation with Robin and the next scene is a month later him deciding to still go to Chicago. He's not going to immediately decide to stay in NY the minute after he decides to start the process of getting over Robin.

That's true. And I guess once he meets the mother, Chicago is off.

Or is it? Do we know that the scenes with the kids take place in New York?

I remember they did a flashback/forward showing how this room in the house Ted bought is now where the kids are sitting. It was a few years ago, not sure which episode. I could be wrong, but I'd swear they did something to show that this story is taking place at that house in NY.

                        Edit: I think I'm thinking of Season 5/Episode 20
Ted reacts to his mother's second marriage by buying a house. Barney makes fun of Robin for crying at the wedding. Ted is stunned when his mother and her long-time boyfriend Clint announce they are going to be married. At the reception, Ted is unable to grasp the fact that his mother is getting married a second time before he has even once, and when Clint begins singing a song, Ted leaves without giving his toast. The gang then doesn’t see him for nearly three days, after which Ted reveals...

Future Ted then reveals the house does in fact become his future home, with shots showing the broken wall transform into one with a cabinet and lighted shelves, the very wall which Ted’s kids are sitting in front of.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Chicago will be off once he meets her because the whole reason for leaving has now gone away.

its funny how this started off as a comedy series...and has pretty much ended up as a drama!...My favourite episode has been "rewind" cant remember what season that is from!

The writers have never shown future Barney and future Robin like they have with Lily,Marshall & Ted...maybe there marriage doesn't survive long?...

My theory is Barney and Robin don't work out in the future...everything is to perfect for that to happen, Robin realises her feelings for Ted ,and Ted declines because he has truly let her go & he is in love with "the Mother" which means Barney and Robin both move out of NYC...or something along those lines!

I wouldn't think they would put this much emphasis on Robin and Barney to simply have their marriage not work out. I think this is a happily ever after scenario with all main couples.

We've seen Future Robin... it was a porch scene. Couldn't tell you when the hell it happened.
