And maybe I'm being over-critical but dang it . . . I had to lay two friends to rest within the span of a few days!! First Psych and then HIMYM!?!? How much can a dude take!?

Thank God for Modern Family, The Goldbergs and Mind Games. They're still there for me.

But like what you said,a number of big name/long running shows ending within past year or so. I said 2014-2015 will be new generation of TV and I really hope it is cause many shows that ended need to be replaced. I used to watch CBS so much(it was my most watched network before),but now,there's only like 1-2 actual shows(meaning scripted shows) on CBS I even watch a week

How I Met Your Mother: Season 9 (The Final Season)

There's still How I Met Your Dad with the wonderful and awesome Greta Gerwig on the way.

I'm holding out irrational hope that HIMYD will be the Parks and Rec to HIMYM's last 4 seasons of The Office (Although HIMYM was never nearly that bad and even at its worst was always an entertaining show. Same can't be said for The Office.)

So anyway, here's a bit of news: 16 days ago today we were in the HIMYM edit room, trying to decide between two very different endings.

We only shot one script, but through edit room magic we had two possible outcomes for the series.

We chose the ending we chose and we stand by it. But we loved the other version too.

We're going to include that version on the Complete Series DVD as an alternate finale to How I Met Your Mother.

The <s>#</s>HIMYM Series DVD Collection comes out this fall, and it's full of other cool stuff. Here's what it looks like:

I already have Seasons 1-8 on DVD but I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up buying that, regardless of if they included an alternate ending or not.

Edited ending will probably be similar to the ones that people put together on youtube.

But will be interesting to see what the edited ending ends up being, and I hope someone somewhere manages to put it up on youtube or something when it comes out.

How much might the series collection dvd cost(and will that one have all deleted scenes in it too)?
